We happens on this gem of a place by accident yesterday and after some lovely rose wine and equally lovely cheeses we decided to book dinner there tonight. Our decision was also influenced by what we saw on offer for their dinner menu but also very much by the excellent professional and friendly service.
Tonigh’s meal was absolutely outstanding. We opted for the a la cart choice and both entrees and mains were delicious. The chef here definitely has a passion for excellence. It was one of the best meals have had in a long time. The pork and scallop entrees were excellent and the main courses of beef and lamb were sublime and we are picky Irish people when it comes to beef and lamb as well as pork and scallops!
The very pleasant proprietor told us they are only 18 months in business. You would never think it was such a young business given the roaring trade and the smooth operation that is run in this lovely establishment. We can’t recommend it highly enough. And of course we have n’t mentioned the wine. One word... sublime! Don’t miss this gem.
dined here last night and had the five course degustation menu with wine. a truly outstanding meal - in my top ten of all time. cannot recommend this place enough!
We opted for the 5 course degustation menu with the sommeliers wine selection - absolutely fabulous, loved it! Clever wine matches with perfection on a plate and warm professional service. The passion and vibe made it a very special evening.
Amazing food, great wine suggestions for each course, and the best service. Would recommend to anyone.
This places is now my favourite Wellington restaurant. It's certainly more than a wine bar.
Sure, the quality of wine is excellent, and the knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff will help you pick something that well matches your food, but the food too is simply excellent!
We had the five course degustation and every dish was a delight.
Cant wait to go back!
Wonderful experience this evening! Thank you very much! Discovered some great New Zealand wines (which we explicitly asked for since we, as Europeans, wanted to get more familiar with the New Zealand wines) and the accompanying dishes were really great! Very kind and knowledgeable staff! Impressed by the kind service and combination of wines with the dishes. We would return here when we're around and recommend the place to everyone who's in Wellington and appreciates good cuisine and great wine.
Came in for the 6 course degustation menu on Saturday and it was fantastic. The food was superb and the wine matching was outstanding...the staff were superb, super helpful and unbelievably well informed. Will definitely be back! 😁🙏
New favourite restaurant in Wellington. Excellent service. Exquisite food. Outstanding wine matching for our 6 course degustation meal. A must-do for foodies.
We had the 5 course degustation menu with wine matching. Food was amazing & the sommelier nailed the wines. Service was amazing and will definitely be back. I'll be recommending this to all our friends as well!
Wandered in on our first night in Wellington looking for a refined dining exoerience. WOW it exceeded our expectations. The 5 course degustation with Wines extended our wine experiences and combined to form a truely memorable evening. Thanks for the opportunity
Another exception experience! Amazing food. Stunning wine ( all on recommendation) and warm attentive service.
Loved the wine selection and the whole atmosphere of quality! It's a great place for a group and for just the 2 of you.
Can't recommend it enough!
Awesome list. Lots of interesting wine by the glass. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Oh and the food is great.
Could not be happier about our first visit to Noble Rot. The management and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and caring. The room is fun and fabulous. The wine list has the best of local and international wines. The food was to die for.
Busy wine bar/restaurant with tasty meals supported by warm friendly service. Being 'wino's' we loved the extensive wine list backed by knowledgeable stewards!
The best wine-experience we've ever had, on any continent! My wife and I were on our anniversary in New Zealand, and happened to be in Wellington for a single night before catching the ferry the next morning. We heard great things about Noble Rot and their tasting menu (degustation menu), so we made our way down the alley and grabbed our outdoor table.
We decided to include the wine-pairing experience with our tasting menu, and I'm so glad we did.
We're fortunate to have done wine tastings all over the world - I can confidently say that Jessica at Noble Rot was the best wine-guide we've EVER had. Thoughtful, entertaining, engaging, and informative, she made us feel like we knew each wine's history, who grew the grape, how it was grown, what the weather was like that year, and how all of these things impacted its flavor. It was amazing!
If you're heading to Noble Rot, go for the tasting (degustation) menu, and add in the wine-paring, especially if Jessica is working that evening! It's worth every penny for the experience.
Fantastic dining experience. The wine selection is incredible - I love the fact the menu is 2 or 3 times larger than the food menu.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the wait staff were lovely. I found they were great at recommending wine matches for food choices which was great for a novice like me.
The food was delicious, my wife and I happily spent 2 and a half hours enjoying ourselves.
We'll definitely be going back.
Amazing wine bar. Always a great selection of food and wine, and friendly staff. Would love it more if there were more vegetarian and vegan options.

Fantastic dinner, no wait time on this opportunity. Beautiful service and perfect food, couldn't have asked for anything different. They also had the courtesy of giving us a little aniversary treat, thanks. Going back next year.

Excellent service, atmosphere and overall experience. Food was absolutely fantastic, specially the risotto starter!
Only cons was that we had to wait 30 min, even though we had a booking, for getting our table .
Easily one of my all-time best food and wine experiences. Amazing wine list and an incredibly knowledgeable host. All four courses that we tried - oysters, tataki kingfish, veal and then cheese were perfect. Great room and perfect atmosphere!
Celebrated our wedding anniversary there. Food and bubble was nice. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommended.
Excellent selection of wines, and the food was equally as impressive. A good selection of gluten free options. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, they recommended some perfect pairings for our dinner choices.
We were given a voucher as a wedding present for dinner at Noble Rot Wine Bar, what an extraordinary experience. The atmosphere is so lovely, the service is off the planet and the food and wine are just delicious. Totally recommend going. We will definitely be going back xo
