This was an uber eats delivery however I was so impressed with the food felt compelled to write a review. We had Chicken Sola, Salt and Pepper Prawns and it was DEVINE. We also ordered the Raita. The Chicken Sola came with a delicious fresh minty dressing and it was tender and delicious. The prawns indescribable. Delicious. The portions were big and have half left over for breakfast. Won’t disappoint. Highly recommended. Talented chef
My most beloved Indian restaurant in Wellington - live nearby and I've been there for dates, BYOs, and takeaways more times than I can count! Staff are lovely and the atmosphere is charming as well
Absolutely delicious. Tandoori cooked chicken in a vindaloo is just amazing and when you order hot and get Indian hot and not European hot it's just that much better
Excellent flavours, although as a rule of thumb always order one level hotter than you actually want: the mild is code for added sugar, so go get dat medium instead.
Service with a smile. Ambience is usually nil but for the odd boisterous crowd of youths doing their BYOs. Still, lovely decor and sturdy seating to wait in for your order to be ready.
Oh god, and the garlic naan! Sublime.
Maybe not a destination restaurant but a reliable and tasty weeknight meal for sure.
I came here looking for something warm and filling after just getting off the plane and frantically trying to navigate to my stay (my first time in Wellington from Auckland)!
I found the place with no trouble, as its hidden inside a house and you need to go down the stairs, and the waitress was very friendly, and made me feel more welcomed (seeing as I was dining alone).
Her service was very good! Very tentative and patient!
I ordered a Chicken curry dish which comes with rice and Roti--the roti was flaky, light and crispy, they were so good!
The curry (I asked for mild) was creamy AND THE CHICKEN WAS SO TENDER!
Was very satisfied with my meal, thanks Welly!
Can't ever go wrong with yellow chilli -our favourite go-to Indian takeaway. Would especially recommend the chicken saagwala and the really good naan breads. Generous portions and decent prices.
Excellent takeaway curries!
Was a perfect Friday night dinner when I was living down the road.
Yellow Chilli do an awesome student deal; $15 for curry, rice, naan and a can of soft drink. My favourite is the mango chicken.
Staff are friendly and service is quick.
One time mine got muddled with my flat mate's and I ended up having hot instead of mild. Luckily we realised pretty quickly.
Yes. Very good food with decent price. Ordered a chicken saag, a butter chicken medium spicy, papadom and a naan. Noticed that the main doesnt come with the naan bread. But overall very good :)

gud food yummy on time service...
Service is fast and I love their chicken tikka masala!
This place is a hidden gem. We initially went because we had an Entertainer voucher. That was 2 years ago. And we keep going back. Have tried other curry places nearby but they don't come close to the quality of food here. Delicious. Service always great too.
Great Jalrezi. Yellow Chilli can cook a mean meal. This place comes with my recommendation. Get it (all) in your belly.
We were 4 of us, went to dine in on a friday at the yellow chilli. the place was packed crazy and the place was nice and warm! we were given a nice corner window seat and we ordered 4 different main dishes which were served within 10 min despite the place being so busy. missed the hot towels this time but the curry was cooked perfect..... exactly how we had requested. the service was quite fast and courteous as well. overall a wonderful dining experience and much recommended !!

been here plenty of times, the food and service are both very very good.if your looking for a perfect curry at a reasonable price that arrives in good time, look no further the here!!
I go here quite regularly. It's really tasty and the flavours definitely come through in the meals. However, their chicken is really fatty. I feel as though they use really cheap cuts of chicken so I generally stick to the lamb/beef curries which are always really tender and tasty.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the area (possibly in Wellington). Their food is well prepared and delicious. I tried the chicken sola —which is classified as a ‘starter’— and it has a full dinner’s worth of chicken, and it has a kick! The fried poppadom is so tasty and the garlic naan is GREAT. My family loves the butter chicken, especially my son who orders ‘Butter the Chicken’ off the kids menu.
The only curious thing was how three people in my party ordered butter chicken and each person’s butter chicken came out in staggered order, my wife’s, then my daughter’s, and then my son’s. It was all extremely tasty, though, so no worries.
Location of the restaurant is far away from the Wellington city in calm & peaceful kelburn. We ordered vegetarian dishes for our order. Food didn’t taste like pure authentic Indian food, we felt something was missing. but, it was doable. Service was slow, but staff was respectful to guests. Interiors of restaurant were cozy.
Ample free parking was available on the streets nearby restaurant.
Vegan Menu! They have a full Vegan menu to pick from. Highly recommend checking them out. City Restaurant prices but tasty food.
I tried their Corn Aloo Tikki Chaat and their Special Masala Chai. Neither were vegan, that was my choice. I really enjoyed the Chaat — savoury, sweet, tangy, and crispy! Highly recommend. It’s a small portion but makes a decent meal for $15!
I’ve been coming here since it’s inception and I’ve never been let down. Yellow Chilli is consistently great.
Make the decision to go, you’ll never look back.
Awesome food, even better service. Such a cozy little place - ample parking on street. Will come again!!!

Outstanding Indian restaurant! The food is consistently delicious, and the menu offers a wide variety of options for all preferences. The service is attentive and friendly. A dining reservation is highly recommended.
The service was exception, the waitress was lovely and we were very well looked after. Vegetarian menu was very impressive and the dishes were delicious when they came out. 5 stars, defs recommend
Absolutely fantastic dining experience! Kudos to Deepac for delivering such outstanding food. Every bite was a delight, and I can't wait to return for another memorable meal. Highly recommended! 🍽️
This restaurant is on the top of my list of places to go. Extremely tasty curries with a twist of freshness in every bite that takes the dishes to the next level. I’ve tried nearly every dish and whether vegetarian or with meat they are all fantastic. Service was great, food was fresh and ingredients were high quality. I wish I get a chance to visit their soon.
This is the best Indian food that I have had in Wellington so far. Located in Kelburn Village it has a cozy atmosphere and a friendly vibe. We had the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Corn Mushroom Masala and both were perfect! Will definitely be visiting again, well done!
Excellent fist visit. We had a range of takeaways and it was all great. The paneer and saagalo a favourite. Naan not bad. Only slight issue was the chick pea dhal was quite salty. Service was excellent and we had popudums whilst we waited and had drinks. Will be back to try again...
Beautiful food - the vegan menu and the curries we got were very impressive. Kind, attentive service and a lovely atmosphere. What a spot!
Something like a little secret this place. Hidden in Kel urn Village this Indian restaurant offers delicious food. Fresh and full of flavours. Everytime I go there I am not disappointed. Thier dumpling dish os just phenomenal.
