Got the 7 course set menu. Was amazing! Our waiter was great, he described the dishes beautifully and had good customer service skills. Was very friendly.
The food was so delicious. Will definitely be returning.
We went for 7 courses degustation dinner with wine. It was a great choice. Our food guide Joe explained what the chef wanted to achieve, the origin of food and wine, and the best way to enjoy it. The only regret is to have too much to eat:)
Had a fantastic meal with my family, a degustation meal with wine paring as an option. The service was excellent, and our waiters' knowledge of food and wine was excellent. Enjoyed the seaview.
We had a lovely lunch here. Staff were very good. Great seat by the window looking at the sea. Food was delicious and beautifully presented . Mushroom pate was yummo. Pork belly was cooked perfectly with tasty accompaniments . A great plant based menu. Hubby enjoyed the salmon . Pancakes went down well.
One of my favorite restaurants in Wellington.
They have wonderful selection of seafood platters and my favorites are their chowder, grilled fish or fish of the day, and salmon. The salmon is very creamy yet you can taste it’s crispy skin. They also have steak and duck menu.
The appetizers are also lovely, particularly the calamari, tuna sashimi, and fresh oyster as well as fried oyster with tempura. Desserts are tempting as well.
The last time we came here, we were seated on the upper floor. Love the view from here and the place has an overall elegant ambience and the service is good.
Those with reduced mobility might have issue going up to the upper through the stairs but if you can get the spot on ground floor then it won’t be problematic.
Parking can be a bit tricky but there is a park building near the area.

We were hoping they had oysters as they said they did the day before, but no. The snapper both tempura and crumbed were both fresh and perfectly cooked! The service could have been more prompt (kitchen? ) and attentive as they weren't too busy. Server had a good attitude. 👍
The food is impressive, really tasty! Service is great and obviously no complaints on the view!

Have visited Dockside many times and have always had good meals and staff have been great. If there is any issues, they are quickly addressed. Beautiful view if you can get a table facing the water. Recommend.
We were in Wellington recently and wanted to enjoy a more fine dining experience for my partners birthday. I booked us in for the 5 course degustion with wine match and we were blown away from start to finish. We were seated at the front of the deck with a beautiful view of the city nightlights. I'm coeliac and they were only happy to accommodate with a full gluten free menu. The food was exceptional and we couldn't fault a thing, as was the wine match for each course. This was 10/10 for every aspect, including our waiter Zach, who explained the dishes and wine match for us along the way, and ensured we were well looked after. While it was more expensive, we got the fine dining experience we wanted and would happily pay that again for the quality of food and service.
