Someone suggested I come here for lunch. Ordered the beef burger and a strawberry thick shake. That thickshake was massive couldn’t finish all of it definitely worth the price! The burger was nice and came with fries and aioli again couldn’t finish that either. Good and fast service. Even though they were packed the food wasn’t compromised at all
Very nice breakfast and coffee
Friendly staff
I loved the scrambled eggs, hash browns
Will definitely come back again
Ambience is very welcoming
Lovely little cafe. Milkshakes delicious but overpriced. Polite staff who are very friendly especially with regulars. Only thing I would fault is their service in the afternoons. They finish at 3.30pm but are clearly in a rush and the staff complain about how tired they are. Beautiful cafe though and the food items look amazing!
Great food and service here - a cosy central cafe that offers a warm environment, quality breakfast and good coffee.
Would recommend if you're wanting affordable AND great food close to town.
If you are wanting a good ole breakfast then this is the place. I ordered the big breakfast for myself and also the simply eggs w/extra bacon for my daughter.
Price including coffee and hot chocolate $42 and worth every penny.
Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive adding to a great breakfast start to another long Wellington holiday day.
Definitely adding to my list and telling all family and friends visiting Wellington to check this out.
Great Staff...the coffee was fantastic as they use Havana Works yay!!!! The beef casserole pie was yummy ($7.50 a bit much maybe not) as it had huge chunks of beef in it and the pastry was flaky and delicious. Will definitely visit again
I have visited the Cafe in Dukes arcade on a few occasions now, for lunch and breakfast. The staff have always been on point, I've always been greeted with a smile! The service has always been prompt and the food is right up there, I had the eggs benedict with bacon and a hash brown... it was delicious!
All around an awesome little cafe tucked away in the arcade and I recommend checking it out.
Also they're great for a quick cuppa coffee to go or stay!!
I haven't a clue which duke it was but his arcade opposite the hotel st George (made famous by the Beatles) is not a likely site for gastronomic experiences of any significance. However, if you've bought your tea at the shop next door and feel like a coffee or snack or maybe breakfast, little peckish isn't at all bad.
I've been three times, coffee twice and breakfast once. Coffee is ok - twice I thought very good and once a little thin on flavour.
For breakfast poached egg on toast, and the Spanish breakfast - two eggs on fried potato and chorizo with a topping of a tomato-based sauce.
Eggs for both well cooked. The Spanish breakfast was good, nothing offensive but I would have liked it to be a little more rusticated - more fiery, potatoes a little more browned and no need for a lettuce dressing.
I've walked past so many times in the last decade, and sitting in the cafe you can see a steady stream of uncertain passers-by peering in - but yes it's definitely worth giving it a go.
This place is sadly hidden, in an Arcade that desperately needs revamping. Anyhow, the place itself has recently been refreshed in a light and joyful pink, with improved lighting and modification to the kitchen. The breakfast is nice and well portioned and the coffee is also good. The Mushroom and Spinach risotto is to die for, if you have to try 1 thing, this is what I would recommend you to try. A nice little café, worth visiting.
Quite simply the best cafe in Welly.
The team are great people, the food is always top shelf and I love the low key atmosphere which is always comforting after a few too many the night before..
The chicken curry, chicken & bacon fettucine and the bangers & mash are my fav dishes. Can't beat the home made hash browns for breakie either!

Great customer service and my breakfast was delish! Food came out really quick. Loved the vibe in this little Cafe as well. Would definitely visit here again!
This is my favourite cafe in thw whole of Wellington!!! Great service! They make you feel like your special. I love going there for my morning coffee and I start my day with a giggle and a smile ♡♡♡
Fantastic wee cafe tucked away in Dukes Arcade! My go to for morning coffee on the way to work for the last 3 and a half years . Such lovely attentive staff and delicious food. Love taking my parents there for breakky when they are visiting from Hawkes Bay and they are always looked after :) It's also lovely to be welcomed back if i am ever away for more than a day or two! Great little hidden gem well worth a visit!
Fridays always starts with breakfast at
Little Peckish, awesome food, coffee, atmosphere and staff as well as great music playing in the back ground.
Overall it was an great experience. I had a Spanish breakfast and it was very nice and pretty. The staff were also very super friendly. The service was very slow as we received our drinks when we had finished our meals.
Have already being there three times and the food was perfect for all of them. Nice service with good food and a free wi-fi zone are what many people look for when traveling, and I must say they fit the bill for a great place for breakfast.
Organised catering for work and it was fantastic.
The meeting finished early and they managed to deliver ahead of schedule
The food was great, loving the soup idea and the veggie option was awesome. Meat eaters had food envy
Highly recommend
Today was our first visit to Little Peckish, and I can tell you right now we will be going back again. Great Food, Good prices, gotta love being able to eat Gluten Free and not be charged more for it. Great Service. Thank you so much
I have been coming to Little Peckish with my partner for nearly 2 years and I have not got one bad word to say. The coffee is fantastic, the food is just amazing and the service is tops! Always welcomed with a smile and a friendly chat! When people ask me where to go for lunch Little Peckish Cafe is top on my list! Thank you Margaret and Mark for being the loveliest Little Cafe owners in Wellington!
Had a great experience here early on Saturday morning, they were happy for me to come I as they were opening up, very friendly and the breakfast was tasty and filling. Great service and I will pop in again when I need a breakfast before catching the airport bus, just down the road.
My wife and I have been going to a Little Peckish for quiet some time and can not fault the staff or Mark and Margaret. They are all ways friendly and always take time to talk to you,I all ways have the big breakfast and leave the cafe full, vowing to cut back on the seize of my meals but can't resist.Keep up the good work Mark and team. We will keep going back and cant speak highly enough of the Little Peckish cafe .
Yes, the friendly, (they look you in the eye, they smile. It's genuine)
Yes, the great service, (it really matters to them that you're catered for)
Yes the unpretentious

I have used them twice for lunch bag meeting lunches and they do superb packed lunches - healthy and tasty and very well received by meeting attendees who are probably over the usual meeting food and were very happy to have a healthy salad filled ham or chicken roll and the selection of other food that went with these. Thanks - Fran
I've been going to Little Peckish Cafe since they opened and I've never been disappointed with the food/coffee or service! They know my coffee order and start making it even before I walk in the door - what service.
Margaret does a sterling job with her catering and I am never disappointed with any of her food. Its simply delicious and wonderfully presented. I always get asked who my caterer is. Her pies are to die for.
Good food, good service. Nice little hidden place in Wellington, love the lunch of eggs/bacon/toast and coffee for $10 - how can you go wrong with that .. perhaps I should keep this secret to myself :-)
Enjoy.
We have been having a morning coffee and breakies at Little Peckish Cafe for some years. One word describes this lovely little cafe - consistency.
Consistency in: Service, food, coffee and ambience. We arrive, order our coffee, read our paper. We can highly recommend this cafe if you would like to get your day off to a good start. If there is a problem with the coffee (once or twice) it is always put right immediately. Customer comments are always appreciated and welcomed.
Friendly staff and the pasta is absolutely scrummy!
food is wonderful , will definitly be returning. Not sure what person above me is on about , although the barista was a nice guy, the coffee was bad... really bad. I.m sorry , but to quote ( im a coffee freak , best worldwide) ?? bold claim. please leave genuine reviews , there is no way the coffee here compares to even a decent nz standard , let alone worldwide.
next time , ill being certianly enjoying the food , but will probably try a smothie next time. (love the cheese rolls)
This place scores highly for delicious food and friendly service. The food is excellent, especially given the price and the rather unassuming surrounds. I would highly recommend the savoury crepes and the risotto. The baking is also great - the carrot cake is moist and succulent and the flourless chocolate cake is fiendishly good too. Highly recommended.
Coffee from Little Peckish is to die for, Craig make the best I have ever tried worldwide. And yes I am a coffee feak, and I have been going to Little Peckish for a long time.
A wonderful variety of food including beautiful salads, and more for the health conscious eaters.
All staff provide excellent service and always greet you with a smile.
I would recommend Little Peckish to everyone.

A spacious cafe tucked away in Dukes Arcade away from the busy CBD streets; I popped in for a quick breakfast on a Thursday morning with my parents. I ended up ordering the salmon eggs benedict, one of my favourite breakfasts, and a soy latte as well. When the meal first came out I thought the portion size looked a bit small, but with the latte, my appetite ended up perfectly satisfied. I also liked that it wasn't drenched in hollandaise sauce like at some cafes I've been to.
The service was good, and free wi-fi is always a bonus at any eating establishment (although these days, I feel its almost to be expected). Overall, no complaints really; good little cafe to try if you're in the area.
Scone Review
At last, someone who knows how to make a good cheese scone. No unnatural straight sides or ridiculous height here, a well proportioned scone in all its natural beauty. Lightly crisped, don't make the mistake of getting it heated. In fact when they do heat it, it's overly microwaved nearly destroying it. The inside is beautifully light, and well favoured. Not too much cheese, well controlled salt. If there is cayenne in there, it is very light. No herbs. All up and excellent cheese scone, 82/100 Well done.
The coffee is also pretty good here BTW.
We went here for breakfast because it was very close to our accommodation at Boulcott Suites. I had the Spanish breakfast. It was ok, tasty enough, but not very big considering the price. My husband had the big breakfast which was nice. My son's had the avocado & salmon on toast and mushroom with garlic & halloumi on toast which looked basic, but delicious. Long black was ok, my family's hot chocolate also ok if not a little watery. They came with a generous helping of marshmallows and a chocolate fish
I had eggs benedict which came with toasted English muffin. Both food and service were top standard and you can see them cooking in the open kitchen. Great coffee as well. Highly recommended.
This is my favourite breakfast place in Wellington. The food and drinks are fab, but what makes this place so special is the kind and welcoming staff. There’s always a smile on their faces. I appreciate that so much. Please visit this café.
Friendly staff, amazing food, great coffee, reasonable prices, awesome service.
Tucked away in Duke's Arcade (between Willis and Manners St), this café is one of my favourite spots in the central city. It is like a little oasis offering some respite from the noise, hustle and bustle of the central city.
The staff are fantastic, welcoming casual customers like they were regulars. And they have a lot of regulars!
Then there is the food... From the quick, easy snacks in the cabinet, like the muffins and slices and the classic "Southern delicacy" that are cheese rolls (a must try!), to the full meals from the kitchen, the food here is amazing and so reasonably priced. There is something for every appetite.
Havana Coffee on offer. Always good, even when the Barista is under the pump during the busier periods.
Never had a bad experience here. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
They also have a small "function room" across from the main café that is a little quieter and can be used for larger groups wanting some extra space or privacy.
Absolutely brilliant!. Who else would serve perfect porridge at lunchtime!!. Forget whatever your hotel is serving for breakfast! Come to these guys....great food! Lovely service! Lovely people!.
See you next time we’re in Wellington guys.
Small servings but tasty and tidy place.
Went during peak hour and my food arrived at my table within 10 minutes, tasted fresh and possibly the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. Reasonably priced, staff are so lovely and friendly. Will definitely be returning
The staff are friendly, the coffee is great (Havana), and the food is absolutely amazing. Whenever we come here, I see people grinning whilst eating their food. Not even joking, it's really noticeable.
We tend to come here at the weekend for brunch, so I can recommend the bacon/banana/maple french toast, and eggs benedict.
Great little spot for a bite and a coffee. Nice food and coffee but the staff are what set this cafe apart. The awesome guy that served me was happy and above and beyond helpful. Really brightened my day 🙂
Amazing big breakfast cooked to perfection. My learned French colleague says the coffee was fabulous. Friendly staff and very fast service. I'll be making this a regular haunt when in Wellington.
Great to see a Wellington cafe offering cheese rolls! Not quite up to Dunedin standards but a reasonable effort. Coffee is good and staff are friendly and helpful
This place is great, yummy menu well priced, cabinet food with personality (actual southland cheese rolls!!!), Excellent coffee, great friendly service, the best cheese scones in Wellington hands down! ❤️
Food was delicious and affordable. Friendly and helpful staff. Tried to tip the staff, they refused and said that all they need is a thank you and a smile. Couldnt have asked for nicer people. Also recommended tourist attractions and somewhere to eat that night.
Great little cafe. Super friendly service and tasty food. Highlights are the cheese scones and real southern cheese rolls
Great food and coffee and friendly service. Always a reliable option for a casual breakfast or lunch. Great chef and great barista.
Pleasant cafe in the heart of Wellington CBD. Friendly staff, quick service and a nice menu range. Breakfast special a good start to the day
