We've been going there for 30 odd years, still one of our favorites.
Overall a good dining experience and the front person was very nice and full of character. Only let down was food took a while to come out otherwise a pleasant authentic meal!
The best Thai food in Wellington hands down. The waiter was very funny and friendly and the chicken cashew nut was amazing as well as the deep fried fish in hot chilli sauce.
Had the stir fried chicken in satay sauce with vegetables and deep fried chicken wings in red wine sauce. Both meals were very good. Twenty dollars plus for a main bit pricy but worth it. Staff very friendly and helpful. So Overall 4 out of 5.
Can't believe I havn't been there before, real hidden treasure! Can't fault the evening one bit. Young waiter was excellent and older waiter was hillarious, everyone full of smiles and laid back, left very full and very happy. Will definitely be going there regularly, the food was perfect!
This place has been around for a long time, is local to me, so should review it. Their Tom Yum Goong is probably the best I have had in wellington, and I have had a few times, but some of their other mains can be variable. Many dishes had mixed vegetables which is a bit weird and unnecessary suburban. Mains are around $13.50 but they charge $4 for rice when ordering as a takeaway which is a little disingenuous. Solid performer without being stellar.
Unfortunately this place isn't as flash as it used to be. Upper city prices in suburbia with minimal meat in dishes and mixed veges thrown in some. Good place for a byo night out but at $20+ a main you would expect better food (someone ordered the fish dish at our table and there was only three or so tiny bits in it). Also, on a prior visit I ordered the duck dish and there was hardly any duck in the dish at all.
This place has been around for a long time, thought we would give it a go as we didnt want to head to the city and love love love thai food! We got the satay gai, pad thai, pad med mamuang, and gaeng ped. The gaeng ped (red curry) was absolutely our fave and the satay a close second, the other two were ok, probably the least nicest pad thai I have had in wellington, and we have had a few.... it had mixed veg which was a bit weird and fried lettuce .... really light on flavour... maybe the lettuce was a garnish but it was in the mix for sure - anyway I would happily return and try a few more dishes, probably the curries. The service was friendly and very efficient which is awesome.
Love this place. They are the best in Wellington. Even tho some of the ingredients would not be considered Thai they are using our local produce. Have eaten Thai food in many places around the world and this place is very hard to beat.
This is by far the best Thai in NZ. I dine here all the time and just love it. I could drink the peanut sauce it's so good ! The place is very dated but the food more than makes up for it. One of Wellingtons hidden treasures.
Went for dinner, staff was very friendly, food was excellent, great ingredients and very tasty
Decor is a bit dated but that doesn't affect the food and the takeaway prices are about $10 cheaper than eating in

What a local gem! Came for dinner on a Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised by how busy it was. Everything we ordered was authentic and delicious! As a small business the owners were very hospitable, welcoming us as if to their own home in Thailand. Definitely give this a try if you’re ever in Wellington!
Great authentic place! So much food was given, and it was definitely one of tasty green curries i ever had. The service was great well.
Friendly staff and super yummy food - there were enough leftovers to last for two more meals which was amazing. Our takeaways even came with lemon slices for squeezing over which was an extra delicious surprise. Thank you!
We have eaten here quite a lot and totally love it, and staff are awesome, and food is cooked to perfection.

The food is always excellent, almost always fast, and the fantastic restaurant owners always friendly, welcoming and helpful - we've been coming here regularly for 12 years and it has never disappointed - it's an Island Bay institution.
Such good food served by the friendly owner who was very attentive. He was also very funny and had a great sense of humor about one in our party being late. I tried the veggie red & green curries and both were perfectly done and piled full of vegetables. The rice is super fresh and doled our generously every few minutes so you don’t have to worry about getting hungry.

Wow! The food here is amazing. The service is great, super friendly and funny. It might not look much from the front, but open the doors into Thai food heaven. The prices are good too for what quality and quantity you get. Highly recommend to visit, but make sure you book as it’s only small and they are very busy!!
Very good Thai food, witty and playful(maybe a bit too much) host,relaxed environment they even let you to buy your beer(Tiger) at the close supermarket
