Having not had time to eat all day, I was looking for a place which food I would be sure to enjoy I searched online for such place located downtown, found this Mexican restaurant, and immediately decided to travel to it Good move! The place features very typical images on the walls. Having traveled and stayed in Mexico for 5 months, I was brought right there Music is really nice Lots of seats Very friendly and efficient staff And food is a fusion, bringing the best of both worlds They have different types of snacks & sides, tacos, quesadillas, and even desserts, and plenty of drinks to choose from, tequilas, magraritas, mezcal, liquors... I personally went for a "fried jackfruit con cola" taco, a "slow braised ancho & agave lamb shoulder" quesadilla, and a "pan fried broccoli florets" side (my favorite) As a drink, as I don't drink alcohol, I went for pineapple + strawberry soda And "cinnamon spiced churros" as a dessert I really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, the staff, and the location Oh, and they also have margarita workshops for groups of people who want to learn how to make them Highly recommended, "me encantó"!

Delicious quesadillas. The chicken one was the best. Nice atmosphere and vibe. Prices are in line with portions.

Went here for a dinner with my partner as a ‘first table’, the food we ordered was pretty good, the tacos were definitely the highlight as well as the sauces that came with our fried chicken and cauliflower! I appreciated that the bartender made us some delicious Mojitos considering they weren’t on the menu. Overall was a nice experience with an awesome vibe further into the dinner service.

I went to Mexico for dinner this week, the food and atmosphere was great! The fried chicken and cauliflower was delish (especially the sauces that came on the side), and the tacos were definitely a highlight. We got a variety of small plates to share, and this was definitely the way to go as we got to try a little bit of everything! I had a lovely evening and will definitely be going back.

Really nice food but very small servings for the price. No good tables for couples and very noisy so hard to talk to each other. Staff were friendly and helpful. We got a Virgin Mango, Lime & Mint Margarita Carafe, Enchiladas/Tacos (with Impossible pork), Potato & Chickpea Masa Tacos, and Patatas Bravas all Vegan & GF. All delicious but small servings so recommend ordering double.

I've been here a few times; staff are nice and friendly, but the lighting is a bit too dark. That makes the ambiance in Mexico Petone much better. Nonetheless, the food is really great; a wide variety of taco fillings!

We visited on Sunday evening - kids eat free Sunday, which was a nice surprise. Although the meals were small portions I must say that the food was absolutely amazing - some of the best Mexican I have ever had. The jackfruit taco and cauliflower in particular were incredible. The staff were welcoming and the vibe was great. Thanks

Absolutely loved it. Will be going back. and back... Great vibe. Fantastic service, dude on was very attentive and quick. ON POINT Margaritas!!! Taco Tuesday rocked. Get a fried chicken taco and a perfect Margarita (choice of 1 of 10 different types) for $15. (or fried cauliflower taco) Reccomend!!!

This place was tasty as! We had the bean taco, the fish taco, the duck taco, lamb shoulder quesadilla, memelas and the margarita. Really good food. Not super cheap but came here on our last night in Wellington and really enjoyed everything.

Definitely a must try. Izzy our barlady was amazing, well informed, friendly and helpful. 🤩 Tequila was smooth and definitely not to be spoilt with lemon & salt. A lavender + blueberry margarita was suggested, it over performed by miles. I will have another for breakfast thank you.... 👌

First restaurant in Wellington and we already hit on the best one! Unfortunate the entrance is obstructive of the goodness inside, but you gotta go in... it's fantastical! Insanely (in a positive way) & intricately designed that set the vibe. Walls, ceilings, everything in between, the bar, tables, dishes, ... even inside the toilets! Just a delight to be seated, looking around in awe... takes a while to absorb it all, too. The lady who served our table was super friendly, polite, helpful and did her job impeccably. And, the food is INCREDIBLE! The fried chicken (especially with the perfectly-paired dips) being the best thing I've eaten in a long time... we were ecstatic! Followed by the chicken soft-shell taco which is still god-tier... and the vegetarian Chimichangas are delicious, plus Chicken Quesadillas were plentiful and damn tasty! The Pineapple & Vanilla Mexican soda was a surprisingly favourable combination :) Pricey? Yeah, but I'd say if you wanna spend as much as they charge, this is this most deserving place. All in all, a must-visit and then re-visit!

I love the interior of this restaurant, the wall art is stunning. The carafes of alcohol are a bit small with too mucg juice and not enough alcohol in them in my opinion. The food is great, especially the guac with housemade topas (cornchips).
