Of all the places we ate in Wellington, the cafe on the ground floor was by far our favourite. Such a lovely space overlooking an outdoor area. Super-friendly staff (and lots of them), and great food. Loved our time there and a wonderful place to refuel midway through your Te Papa visit.
A good option when you are spending a day at the Te Papa. We just beat the lunch rush by a few minutes and were served with in a few minutes of being seated. We ordered fish burger with fries (chef's special for that day), pasta and coffee. All of them were good. My little one got entertained by some ducks and ducklings in the outside seating area. And they have coloring paper and pencils right at the entrance, that kept him busy for a while. Overall, we had a good experience.
My daughter enjoyed the mini Iced Mocha $4.50 and we shared the delicious Pasta of the Day $22 although the pasta has not much ingredients. We would prefer it come with more bacon and mushrooms and bigger portion please.
Not many cafes opened after 3pm in Wellington. This is open to 5pm is well run and good variety plus the museum what’s not to love !! Wheelchair and stroller accessible
friendly service, clean environment, plenty of tables to eat there, lots of cabinet food and lots of selection of food to order, big portion of food, great prices, food taste so delicious and nice coffee.
Good food ! Excellent value for money ! Lots of seating
Considering this is a museum, great facility and service. Good coffee and reasonably priced.
The place had high ceilings and I wonder to myself how they clean out the cobwebs. Other than that me and my wife enjoyed a lovely cheese toastie. I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars but I’m a nice guy so I’m giving it a 4 cheers
Recently remodeled - it's a big improvement! Food is a reasonable price and very good quality. Heaps of room.
Only complaint by the time you get hot food it's cold between the wait at the service counter to pay and order drinks.
Came here for lunch and had two poached eggs on some gluten free toast. Eggs were cooked perfectly and I wasn't charged any extra for the gluten free bread. At $10.50 I thought it was really good value. Great spot to have lunch if you want to spend the day at the museum.
Can get quite busy during weekends specially around lunch time but they have a really good range to pick from. Atmosphere is good, place is clean and tidy (Thanks to their staff who always clean the tables without leaving used dishes etc for ages). And a big bonus having a good cafe next to museum and waterfront
Nice food and good service. One of the only cafes open on a Sunday so we were pleased to find good food here.
