Here are some throwback pics and quick take of our family visit to Saffron Haveli in February 2018.

We really enjoyed the different curries 🍛and non-veg entries such as chicken 🐓 + fish 🐟 pakora. We could taste the different spices/flavours in each dish and got good portions sizes for what you paid for.

The place is quite spaced out and the interior uses different artwork 🎨 or items 🪕to bring out the ”Indian mansion” 🕌 theme. Service was friendly and prompt, which we appreciated in our visit.

This place is has one of the best tasting curry dishes in town. There's also free parking to boot. What more can you ask for? Do also try their chaat dishes.

I've been there a few times and it always delivers. One of the best Indian places for me, super tasty food, friendly service and quick. Totally recommended

We went here for lunch and found that the food is really great and authentic. We had the Saag and the Rahra. Both were very rich and tastefully cooked. The roti was quite fresh too! The portion sizes are generous as well. Best bonus you get is you have free parking!

I've been to saffron Haveli about 5 times now and I have always left 100% satisfied, I would go so far as to say that I think they do the best curries in Wellington :) The Hara Barah Kebabs are a delicious starter and I think the Shahi Paneer if my fave curry of what I have tried, and I'm a meat eater! What I love as well is that my vegetarian bf has a massive selection to choose from :) 10/10 recommend this place!

Highly recommend. They've spruced the old funeral parlour up with a lick of paint, new carpet and tables, changed the seat padding, put up art and Indian ornaments, changed the entrance, and made it very cosy. It's a colourful and fresh space filled with the fragrant smells of Indian food.

My party of three loved our meals. We went stright for mains and the Shahi Paneer (paneer cubes in a thick creamy slightly sweetened sauce) and garlic naan. This was delicious! It had the right amount of creaminess, and the paneer was moist inside. Another one had a Chicken Bhuna that was meant to be dry, but the sauce was too good. Again a beautiful unsweetened sauce. Tomato based, not too tangy. Lots of chicken, and the right amount of spice. Very tasty. I had the Lamb Biryani, which came with a thick raita (pronounced ray-tha, not right-ah) and in a mini oven dish. My doggy bag contains another two meals! Some lamb bits were huge, and had to be cut. It could've had more salt to bring the flavours out, but the spiced rice was good, and together it was delicious. I'm not a raita fan, but this was good too. Thick and the right amount of cucumber, salt and other ingredients. Creamy and cooling with a hot dish.

Our English waiter was knowledgeable about the food, and helped us make better food choices. Very attentive too. Haveli has talented staff and you can see they want customers to have a good experience. It was nice to watch. Will definitely return for the good food, atmosphere and service. Well done team Haveli!

We shared a vegetarian entree and a lentil curry, with some naan - it was all delicious! Especially the mixed vege entree/platter thing. Great service too.

I recently had lunch with a group of friends at Saffron Haveli in Wellington, New Zealand. While the restaurant's ambiance was pleasant and the service was adequate, I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed by the overall dining experience. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the variety of Karies we sampled. However, the taste failed to leave a lasting impression. The flavors were decent, but they didn't quite reach the heights one might expect from a restaurant of this caliber. On a positive note, the staff was attentive and courteous, ensuring our needs were met throughout the meal. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting, providing a comfortable setting for our gathering. In summary, Saffron Haveli offers a pleasant environment and satisfactory service. However, the food, particularly the Karies, left room for improvement.

I visited the restaurant on Monday when they usually have 1+1 curry deal. The quality and the taste of the food were good. However, the quantity was too low.

Food is good but a little on the expensive side, could be considered given the prime location. There is a decent sized car park right besides which makes it really convenient. The restaurant has a very interesting and cozy setup with lots of paintings, cratfs and artefacts to admire. Staff members are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Customer service is good.

Thank you so much Bhavneet to you and your wonderful team. The food was amazing! Everything was delicious! My fav was the Chicken Saag and the lollipop chicken! The atmosphere was buzzing with a small work do going on, and we could clearly see everyone enjoying their amazing food and company. The staff were so friendly always checking in on us and if we needed anything. Thank you again Bhavneet and we will be coming again soon!

The food at Saffron Haveli was amazing. The Wednesday 2 for 1 deal is great. My daughter and I both had great meals for less than one main at any other restaurant in Courtney Place.

I ordered from here fairly recently and was actually a little disappointed with my order (don't get me wrong, it was tasty but not quite what I had expected). I ordered the Butter Chicken which really, is probably the wrong dish to have ordered as Saffron Haveli seems like a really authentic Indian dining experience (so perhaps I should have got something more original). The staff here are great and the food looks fantastic, so I'll definitely be ordering here again but perhaps trying something else instead (I like my curries sweet and the butter chicken just didn't cut it for me).

The food tastes great! We ordered on DoorDash and were able to select “Indian Hot” as the spicy level. The spiciness was just perfect for us, just like how we eat at home. The naan was quite large and the food portions were also pretty good. The price of the food was very reasonable according to the amount of food we had received. We ordered Daal Makhani, Palak Paneer, Naan and rice. I don’t usually leave reviews for restaurants but this place deserves one!

Just delicious. They have a good gluten free bread (corn flatbread). The menu is extensive. Great veg options. Everything was delicious! It didn’t seem very busy, which was surprising but during our time there I think we counted about 10 takeaway pick ups. Portions were very generous. We will definitely be back!

BEST onion bhaji I've ever had. Butter chicken could be more tomatoey, but otherwise was great. Well priced for the amount of food I got too.
