These guys got me hooked on Butterscotch Schnapps, and it's now all downhill for me from here. Delicious poutine and burgers, and a great selection of drinks. Their blueberry cider on tap is really good too.
Massive portions for a decent price. Great german beer range. Brezel with the cheese sauce is a must. Dumplings are ok. Kransky with mash gravy and saurkraut is great and beef snitzel also good. Platter might be a better option if its your first time
I love this place. Really takes me back to Munich! Had a pint of beer and some chicken nibbles. It was so good. I love it. Definitely coming back. Love the atmosphere and the daily deals which was perfect timing for the happy hour on Friday!
This place is fantastic! Good, Hearty, Proper Tasty food. Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Relaxed vibe. Wonderful value for money. Definitely going back!! A+++
Many people said this restaurant is not good. However,I found authentic Bavarian style pork nuckle here. That's different with the Northern Germany style pock nuckle in many restautants. I think authenticity is a key element of restautant, although their sausages is from local supermarket, but the pock nuckle and bavarian roast chicken are really good dishes.
Been her quiet a few times. Really good food, the staff are always friendly and the service is quick and reliable. 100% would recommend to anyone.
Fast and friendly service and huge portions. Had the pork knuckle which we didn't expect to be so big and the wurst platter which covered the entire plate. Super tasty and as we had the entertainment book, the 2 mains only cost us $39!
Been here for beers a few times now- the staff are friendly, the tap beer is great, and the mac n cheese balls are sooooo good. Good value too. Look forward to trying their mains one day :)
Great beer. Great place for a beer. This place has a fantastic outdoor area that gets a lot of sunshine when it is sunny.
Food is neatly presented and portion sizes are pretty reasonable.
Got a grab one voucher so tried this place. We got the full chicken and pork knuckles, 2 LARGE 1 litter beers.
The food was amazing! Huge portions, taste was great and an experience for German meals. The table beside us got Wurste (sausages) and they looked divine.
The service was great! Very friendly staff and did check on us a couple of times
The setting was great. Very comfortable and spacious. The toilets were clean and I loved the black tiles.
Best to book in advance as this place seems to get busy.
Went here as a group of six on a Wednesday night. We booked our table before hand and were told if we'd like the pork knuckle, then we should pre-order that too as they sometimes run out. We pre-ordered 4 pork knuckles and a pork schnitzel (one couple shared the knuckle and ordered a few sides and they were more than full!). The knuckle was out of this world and definitely one of the most tasty dishes we've eaten. A little too much salt on the crackling but that was countered with a big stein of beer. We also ordered the jagermeister chicken wings and they were the best chicken wings I've ever eaten. The pretzel was bloody tasty too. Overall, a great experience, and we'll definitely be back for more!
Delicious pretzels (whipped butter better than the cheese option) and chips. Original Hofbrau beer - perfection! Great location too. Outside heaters were great this time of year.
Ordered pork knuckles (4/5), debreziner ((3.5/5) and bratwurst (3/5). Sausages were average but the star was the pork knuckle. Meat was falling off the bone and the crackling was some of the best I've ever tasted. The accompanying sauerkraut was also very good. Service was very attentive and friendly.
This place rocks!!! Ok the pork knuckle is more than your average meal but omg it as big as someone head and is fantastic!!!! Better than the food we had back packing in Germany or Austria!! This place is a must. Great service and good homely food!!
We initially wanted to come on a Saturday evening with our little one in tow, but thought otherwise, as it was blaring out with very loud music which I did not think my little one would appreciate. We returned during the day the following weekend, to a much more quieter environment.
We ordered a dish each and of course you cannot go to a German restaurant without ordering a schnitzel.
The schnitzel even though it was quite expensive for what it was, it certainly was tasty and crispy without too much oil residue on it.
I enjoyed it, despite other reviews. If you do not mind paying the price, I do recommend you give this place a try. The service was friendly and the food came out fairly fast, I guess this is due to the fact that they were not overly busy.
Please check out my review on my website.
This is the first time I have written a review on a restaurant, but having read the "Yuk" review below, I feel some balance is called for. I dined there on 27 December with family (5 of us), and we all agreed we have nothing but praise for the place. Service excellent, waitresses lovely, food tasty and enjoyable. We shared the sausage sharing plate, which gave us samples of different wursts - we thought they were all excellent. Mains included crumbed chicken breast, crumbed pork loin (no stodge there), and roast duck leg with tasty red cabbage. Too much food! We weren't overly taken with the decor, but it's not offensive and probably reflects the traditional beer hall ambience. Only (minor) complaint was the music, which didn't fit the scene - a selection of traditional German music and drinking songs would have really added to the atmosphere and been more appropriate. We'll be back!
Nice place. Went there not so long after the opening so it was still pretty busy. Hard to get to the bar and people were less than scrupulous to cut you off with waiters noticing so I thought that was a bit of a downer. But well. They have a very nice beer on tap (the smokey one) haven't tried the food (absolutely no one was eating when I went there). But their menu seems genuinely delicious. The long tables german style are nice especially because you can soak up the sun while listening to some bands. I'll probably go back from time to time for after work drinks.
Funky little place with a cool vibe. Tacos had a nice kick and the sauce for the chicken was super tasty. The highlight was the slushy margaritas. I didn't have the monster nachos but that thing looked impressive and it seemed to be a favourite.
First time eating here this evening . It was a busy Monday night but we received very good service from all the staff, fast and friendly. We were greeted on arrival, taken to our table and then got our order, all of that happened in just less than 10 minutes. We loved all the food. The servings were huge, the Monster nachos could definitely be shared by 3-4 people. Nice ambience and vibe of the place. Will definitely be back again to try other foods from the menu.
First time here, birria was delicious , and monster nachos were value for money..we didn't realise just how monster they would be, ended up going home with so much leftovers. Could definitely feed a group of 4 at least. The pizza was not so good though, quite dry and not worth the price.
The only other downfall is not enough lighting outside , was a struggle to see my food . Other than that, everything else was amazing.
I recently dining at Rosie's Red Hot Cantina, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The first thing that caught my attention was the great-priced menu offering a selection of delicious Mexican-styled food. From tacos to burgers, there was something for everyone.
While the service was okay, it's important to note that the place was bustling on a Sunday night. The fact that it was so busy is undoubtedly a positive sign, indicating that Rosie's is a popular spot among locals and visitors alike. Despite the busyness, the staff managed to handle the crowd efficiently and were courteous throughout.
One of the standout aspects of Rosie's Red Hot Cantina is the pricing. Compared to other restaurants in the area, Rosie's offers the best value for your money. It's refreshing to find a place that not only serves quality food but also keeps affordability in mind. The reasonable prices make Rosie's a great option for those on a budget or looking for a good deal.
In terms of the food itself, I was thoroughly impressed. The Mexican-styled dishes were flavorful, well-prepared, and generously portioned. The menu catered to different tastes and dietary preferences, ensuring there was something to satisfy everyone's cravings. Whether you're a fan of spicy flavors or prefer milder options, Rosie's has got you covered.
Based on my experience, I would wholeheartedly recommend Rosie's Red Hot Cantina to anyone in search of delicious Mexican cuisine at an affordable price. The combination of a great-priced menu, decent service, and a bustling atmosphere on a Sunday night makes it a standout option in the area. I left feeling satisfied, and I am already looking forward to my next visit to Rosie's.
Great food and friendly service! Lucky for me I popped in on Taco Tuesday, which meant $6 Taco's!! I got there before the lunchtime rush, or so it seemed sitting outside, and received my order faster than expected.
I had the Cheeto Chicken Taco and still dream about the flavour and texture combinations! Wish there was one of these in Auckland!! So happy I ordered two!!
Absolute beautiful place Rosie’s is! The food was insanely good and a wonderful atmosphere. The only down fall is the music was a tad bit too loud (no I’m not old! 26 lol) so hearing others at the table was a bit difficult. But otherwise all workers were great and really helpful!
The tacos are amazing! Highly recommend! I demolish them far too quickly and they're very messy but oh so worth it.
The place is nice but it took us a while before we get our sit place our order, it might be still effect of understaff. The ambiance was nice and cool. Margarita was yum! Their signature chicken wings is a must and monster nachos was gigantic and yum!
Awesome place. The service was great, and it was exceptionally quick, considering there were a lot of people there. They have a lot of outdoor seating, which is great, so you can soak up the outdoor vibe of people.
The food? Well we had rad that the monster nachos were pretty good so that's what we ordered, we were asked if there were 4 of us and we did say no only 2....when it arrived we then figured out why they asked that. They aren't kidding when they say they are HUGE!! . Now I'm not a big eater but my other half isn't shy and even he couldn't handle it. We asked for a doggie bag and that covered dinner and was still not finished. So if you love nachos and want a decent feed, order this, you won't be disappointed.
The first night I went here they were out of a lot of food because they had been busy so I came back the next day. The food was pretty good, though I definitely would suggest that you need at least 3 people to finish off the Monster Nachos. They are pretty massive (but good). Also had the Chicken Wings (really good and not too spicy at all) and a Taco (it was Tuesday after all). A good experience overall and some nice outdoor dining.
