Lola Stays is my favorite cafe in Wellington. The asian fusion sharing concept is really nice and the ambiance is unbeatable. 10/10 would recommend.
Lola Stays is a neighbourhood cafe in popular Oriental Bay. Light and airy decor makes for a summery atmosphere that attracts a diverse range of customers. There can be queues for weekend brunch but you can wait inside and order coffee (Havana) until a table is ready. We sat by the window, which is a great spot for people watching. I ordered classic poached eggs on 5 grain toast with a side of free range bacon. Good food, service and ambiance.
Same coffee blend as Havana Lounge so needless to say the flavors were all there. This cafe is close to the harbour so you can sit & look at the water from outside or inside tables. Pleasant service
Lovely spot right that is very close to the water (much needed on a hot day in Wellington.) The staff were really lovely and I cannot complain! I hear lots about the tacos so we ordered both, chicken and fish. You get two of each. We were concerned it wouldn't be enough because we are a minimum of '3 tacos each' type of people. But they were huge! They were very flavoursome. If i had to choose a favourite, it would be the chicken.
You guys are amazing! The best service and well trained staff. The food is great and lovely location for Sunday brunch. Would recommend to anyone. The bacon was delicious too.
Been here many times for breakfast and coffee dates. The staff provide great service and they are very friendly.
I tried their chocolate brownie and sorbet trio as well as their breakfast bruschetta! It was soo yum!!!
Check my Ig for more details 😁
Took my mum and sister here for mothers day dinner..
AMAZING!!
My mum had the lamb chops and my sister and I shared the chicken tacos,Caesar salad,Sydney potatoes and the corn.. everything was absolutely yummy!
We also shared a sticky date and feijoa crumble 👌🏽
Also had a wine each and came to $125 for all of us.
As we were about to leave the staff brought us over all little gifts to take home!! Cookies and other baking and rosehip face spray and other cute treats!! Will definitely be going back to try the brunch menu! Lovely helpful staff ❤️❤️
Had a lovely breakfast on a Sunday morning with my two kids. Coffee was great and food was tasty. Nice atmosphere might even see an All Black or two in the weekends!
Such a beautiful and lively cafe located in the heart of Oriental Parade. Staff are incredibly attentive, friendly and kept all the tables very clean. 10/10 service for sure.
Food came out quick, and was relatively well priced compared to some other places around. Lola’s granola bowl was delicious, however I wish there was a bit more to it. Some more fruit, yoghurt or even more granola itself would have been great. It is quite a small portion. The avocado toast on the other hand was heavenly. The caramelised onions on top were a particular highlight.
An absolutely perfect cafe for a nice sunny day. Will definitely return in the summer. Thanks team!
Staffs are very welcoming and accommodating.
We ordered the following below, and how we rate it:
Lola’s Big Breakfast - 5 of 5
Belgian Waffles - 5 of 5
Flat White - 3 of 5
Cappucino - 3 of 5
Reason for giving 3s on the coffee is that the way it tastes, it seems like the beans were overly grinded.
Will definitely come back. Who knows, maybe the coffee will be great then.
Recommended to book a reservation so you’ll get a sure seat once you arrive.
If I was to play a game of Never Have I Ever I would start it with …
Never have I ever had such lovely service and such good food in a cafe until I tried Lola Stays.
We knew we’d found our people when there was a “Dog Policy” notice in the window and 2 beautifully behaved dogs and their owners inside. That sounds like the owners were beautifully behaved too, and I’m happy to go with that.
We were greeted by a smiley, happy lady at the counter and the barista also turned to smile at us. As a general rule of thumb I don’t like people, but the tiny space where my cold, cold heart lives was warming.
We ordered drinks and then went back to order breakfast. Where I’m that awkward person that plays around with the menu, instead of being met with a withering sneer, I got an “oooo, good choice. That’ll be really nice” and I felt like an achiever.
The Favourite Husband always has an extra egg, usually bringing the total to 3. He was in a borderline state of ecstasy when his big breakkie came with 4. #lifegoals and all. I’d added the black pudding to my avocado and halloumi and it was sensational. I think from the menu it’s made locally; don’t ever let them relocate.
As we were getting up to go another server immediately appeared to simply say “you guys have a really lovely day.” And it seemed so sincere and genuine that I swear my cold cold heart was on fire.
I will never eat breakfast anywhere else when I visit Wellington. I need to borrow a dog too ….
Lovely and pleasant and kind people. Staff is wonderful and music is great without being too loud. Great stop in, even at peak Sunday lunch hour.
Was randomly walking and decided to have some coffee, nice place, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Thanks for sugarattack guys🤗 exactly what I was needed 😌
Really enjoyed my avocado on grain toast with mushrooms at Lola Stays today! Good food, great value, and friendly, welcoming hospitality. Can’t wait to come back ❤️
Perfect stop for a quick lunch.
Good value, very nice open lamb burger and Avocado/mushrooms on toast.
Only recently reopened, the new ownership hasn’t affected quality or the quality of the service.
Friendly staff who recognised me from a visit I made the previous day. Impressed! Food was top notch. Loved the vibe within the cafe & loved how dogs were welcome.
A lovely busy Cafe with friendly staff. Relaxing atmosphere 😌 to catch up with friends or family.
My favorite cafe in Wellington! Great food and friendly staff. The best waffle in the town.
