Love this spot, the tininess and cuteness and the wicked vegan spread. It is a popular spot so does get busy quickly! Must be dog friendly, I don't have one but my kids have had dogs to enjoy from the wjndow
Nice unbaked goodies and delicious cabinet food, great coffee like fantastic. Small seating though and children spoiling our couple having a romantic coffee date vibe but cafes and restaurant staff cant control the pateons kiddies (but parents you could..just saying lol). Yum healthy salads, sweeties and various dietary options for allergies and/or preference. Very friendly, well presented staff. Ideal for a sunny arvo nibble, coffee and then stroll to Lyall Bay beach.
I love this little spot. Although it is little, I have always managed to secure a table, or get a quick takeaway. The only problem is making a decision what to get. My favorite is the Maranui muesli.
Such amazing food on offer here if you're gf or vegetarian or vegan or dairy or whatever! Sugar free or no refined sugar - if you want delicious healthy food and treats this is the place to go. Service was great and the food was delicious.
Featured: no sugar added, gf banana and almond loaf and brown rice sushi with tofu, avocado, vegetables
Pretty cool wee spot just of the beaten path from Lyall Bay Beach... really eclectic decor which makes waiting for your coffee a breeze, great counter food and gluten free options too, previously enjoyed pandoro bread items and an awesome hummus which makes this a regular stop for us.... more recently the raspberry gf brownie went down a treat!
I love Queen Sally's! One of the only and best places I've found in Wellington that serves alternate healthy food. Some of the food is a little bit pricey. Coffee is so good too! Staff very friendly. And I love the set up and style of the place - with vintage circus decor. Would love to see this place serve more then just cabinet food in the future!
Had a quick visit here for a excellent coffee and some sort if delicious filled meringue treat. The staff were delightfully friendly and I adored the decor.
Another Harry Potter cafe (with ontrays- Petone) - arising as a result of maranui's stint as a Phoenix, this is a magical interior set in an old wooden shop around the corner.
Five or so inside cafe tables with three seats each gives it a rather cramped feel and your eyes rove across so many eclectic bits and pieces from rocking horses to bottles of jerk, fairy lights to sugar coated almonds.
The absence of a kichen and presumably not wanting to steal maranui's thunder means that other than toast, food comes from the cabinets or is a salad. A good selection of filled rolls and wraps as well as pastries and cakes.
Two trim caps arrived quickly prepared by the barista with the 30 something beard. It was good - Havana - good texturing, a hint of bitterness but good flavour.
Wanting a cooked breakfast we moved on to elements nearby but I'm glad we went here - just for the interior alone - a brilliant fit out and good coffee.
Went here last weekend with a friend for a sweet treat. As it was a beautiful Wellington day, we sat outside in the sunshine enjoying an iced Mocha (for me) and a chocolate caramel slice (for my friend). The iced mocha was HUGE and came complete with wafers and litres of cream - definitely a naughty treat! The caramel slice was delicious! I might even go so far as to say it is a good rival of Midnight Espresso on Cuba. The thick caramel layer is countered by a dark chocolate top and coconutty base! The cafe was very busy but am keen to get back to try something off the menu. Will be back soon!
I've yet to sit in and eat here but the menu looks delicious. It always seems to be too busy to! Coffee has always been good and there's a great selection of food in the cabinets to takeaway if needed.
Friendly staff, excellent coffee and food, especially the doughnuts.
Love the food here and the coffee is good too.
Just need the barista to hurry along with his chatting to people and make the coffee so that a queue doesn't form out the door...
Other than that, very cool place.
I recently visited Wellington and a friend insisted I visit the Diamond Deli. We had intentions to eat there but the place was so packed we ordered takeaway. The place had brilliant energy and the coffee was really nice. Cool place with great accessories hanging from everywhere. Very unique place.
These guys are so friendly, even though they are always mega busy they do not fail to have a little friendly chatter and brighten up your day.
The coffee is great and without a single doubt the FASTEST coffee I have ever come across, from ordering it's usually in my hands within 2 minutes, I've had takeaway coffee from many, many places and regularly wait 5-10 mins, even 15 in some.
I haven't tried a huge amount of their food but the baked goods are delicious.
Gorgeous place with a wonderful atmosphere :)
I have been coming to this cafe on a regular basis since it opened.
I love it.
Great salads and I love the breakfast burrito. The coffee is usually spot on and the staff are friendly and relaxed.
Re the review by James L. I remember the person you are talking about and thankfully he has left.
Excellent coffee, and the salads are always really tasty. Hard to get a seat in the weekends. Service is normally pretty good, but can be slow if there is a rush of people. Be patient and you will find it's worth the wait!!
A gorgeous place for breakfast and brunch! Wildly popular but worth the queues. My family had breakfast here the other day — we individually enjoyed their Granola, Pesto Scroll, Vegan Samosa, and Raspberry and Apricot Oatie Slice.
The Vegan Samosa and chutney was homemade and massive. A really great breakfast option for people who love savoury over sweet. The Oatie slice was an excellent DF option, unsure if it’s Vegan. It was so delicious — highly recommend. Vegan Yogurt was offered at no extra cost!
The Pesto Scroll was exceptional. The Granola was divine and the coffee was good, so I’m told!
Lots of Vegan, GF, and DF options. Not a lot of seats inside or out but the beach is a short walk away.
Loved this place! Food was great, different and tasty, original and colorful. Can’t wait to go back.
Delicious :) And the soup is wonderful on a cold day in Wellington
One of the best nooks hidden this side of Mount Vic! Great coffee is poured all day long at this delightful offshoot of Maranui Surf Club, and is worth a trip if ever in need of the caffeine hit!
Alongside great coffee, the Queen Sally’s crew - all of whom are lovely - speed through service ensuring your time whiling away the time in this quintessential seaside coffee shop is brilliant.
Be sure to come with an empty belly! The cabinet food on offer is all spectacular looking with a range of vegan, gluten-free and or dairy-free options. The carrot spice cake is a favourite as is the cacao cheesecake. There’s also a great range of relishes, chutneys and preserves to help you home cooking become something fantastic.
And in the best kiwi tradition, there’s alway great choices of ice creams! The Nice Blocks range is well represented, so treat yourself to some ethically made icy sweets!
Go here for delicious coffee and side dishes and enjoy making it a regular stop on your way to Lyall Bay!
Amazing to find a cute little cafe that has heaps of gluten free options, who are also aware and mindful of contamination for people with gluten allergies. The coffee is consistently great too.
A true Welly darling consistently pumping out the best coffee and delightful scones, muffins, biscuits, salads (o, yes, the salads) and treats. You just gotta go there
What a vegetarian gem. Found this special place one Saturday and enjoyed the food so much came back the next day for breakfast and enjoyed it again. Great coffee and service.
I'm back in Wellington again and this place is a must. The place is so popular you need to get there early if you want the good choices. Its so disappointing to see the special dish you thought could be yours was already sold and no more available.
Delightful place with shaded out-of-rain pavement tables. I would avoid the breakfast pie unless you're a frittata fan.
Quirky Vegan/vegetarian spot. Yummy food, lovely staff. Fast and efficient service. Lots of bits of bottled goodies to buy too.
Awesome assortment of gf food an whilst I don't drink coffee, the crew I was with raved about. Country town vibe in the big city. Really enjoyed the boutique qualities this little shop had
