There are a lot of things to like about Brown Brothers. Sure, there is room for improvement, but overall it was a very nice experience. The decor is a bit odd, but there are nice touches. The logo is... Not good, but the wood cut menus are a nice touch. The food itself was good but not great, let down a little by some minor things: tough dry mushrooms, poached eggs just slightly past done, and hollandaise lacking in enough acidity and possibly poured on the plate too early. Presentation was good, some care taken. What was a real treat is they make their own potato cakes, and their own halloumi! The halloumi is a little different, like paneer (they are similar), but definitely enough like halloumi for halloumi fans like us. The kitchen you can see and it's very clean, tidy and well organised, there is a separate area for vegetarian food. The menu is almost all very standard brunch cafe fare, only has a couple of things that hinted at the Indian heritage of those who staff and run it. I'd love to see them do at least a couple more, some sort of inventive mashups of western and Indian food would be a delight. Service was excellent, very friendly.

The food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Mocha was spot on for balance of coffee and chocolate. Very friendly and professional staff.

Amazing flavours. Every dish was well balanced, unique and absolutely delicious. The meat was cooked medium, which was a bit too much for our liking and the duck fat needed more rendering but other than that it was a great experience. Wine match was perfect. Wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend

Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. The atmosphere is a bit muted, but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the evening. Food is a good mix of Indian and European flavours. Scallop and Duck entrées are just melt in the mouth. Venison and Steak well cooked, sauces are delicious and good portion size. Beautifully presented desserts

Called in for dinner. Excellent service most professional staff seen so far in Wellington restaurant, make you feel like a royal. Surroundings and interios were good as well. Had three course meal really enjoyed it, specially the fusion flavors of indian cuisine. Only thing is my fish can be a little more hot and can add more options for desserts. Overall had a really amazing experience and would be telling everyone about it

Very prompt and polite service with good quality food and a fine selection of drinks. All facilities were clean and hygienic. Great dinner atmosphere. Staff made an effort to have or did prepared in time for a show at another venue. Will come back always, will be my first food of choice 👌

It's very much a "fancy food" place. So it's not very cheap and the food comes in quite small servings. It's really designed to be a multi course meal and the mains are intended to have a side. Otherwise you'll be quite hungry still by the end of your meal. That said, it's some really amazing food and well worth if you're looking for a fancier dinner out. Really everything me and my wife ate was absolutely delicious and everything has its own unique twist (like their garam brulee which is like a creme brulee but on top of mango). Well worth checking out
