Lively environment. Lots of places to sit. One of the better options out this neck of the woods. The burger was excellent; just how I like it to be done. Reminds me a bit of Shake Shack in the States. Bun was soft and chewy with a bit of crispness. Patties were delicious without an overly seasoned taste. The fries weren’t anything to write home about. If you want a lot of fries, don’t get a $5 add-on with your burger. Order an entirely separate bowl of them. Much more filling. The fried chicken was nicely done but the batter didn’t have much flavour. Quality fare though, just rely on the sauce to do the heavy lifting.

Overall a very cool place for few beers and pub style food. They have a some really good drops! The food was pretty good too. We got the chicken burger and the chicken bites, both were cooked and seasoned well. Dog friendly bar too.

A nice bar. One of the Capital's most beloved breweries @parrotdogbeer has come a long way since its garage door fillery days on Vivian St. Now a distinctly 1970s retro, kiwi-as, family- (and dog-) friendly bar in Lyall Bay, @parrotdogbar "Nice" oozes kitsch nostalgia - but still in that low-key, DIY kind of way. It all began in 2011 with 3 uni students named Matt who fast-grew a brand loyalty that enabled crowd-funding of $3million. Despite their rise to fame, the founders' approachable, unpretentious ethos still applies here: come as you are, we have a beer for you.

My east Wellington local. Great beers brewed on site. My doggie Moa's favourite pub! Shame they no longer do the Ruben sandwich.

Large with spaciousness around isles and tables. And there are doggies allowed inside, which was cool. Their menu choices have returned. Everything was mostly good enough. (The only let down was the empty tables needing clearing or a wipe. It was busy so sitting at an uncleared, dirty table was the only option at a busy time slot. We cleared the dishes into half a double and separated them. (We both found the aoli lacking)). Otherwise, the vibe and service speeds were good. We enjoyed ourselves.

Best chicken burger I've tasted in a while. Beer... as always, great. By 3 pm the place was pumping. Outdoor yard was chokka on this beautiful Saturday. Great vibe. Cool music. Perfect for family and pooches.

Awesome stylish space to drink good beer. Food was a little disappointing. Menu was good but quality of food was not up to scratch with space or beer. Would still recommend the experience, though.

Great family place. Good food... Try the spicy cauliflower side. Also loved the sundog Pilsener. But the best part was the feel on a Sunday afternoon. Had a great vibe of people meeting, talking, laughing.

We used to dream of having a decent bar in our hood that wasnt full of pokie machine low lifes. Our dream came true. Excellent bar. Killer food. Occasional wicked live music. No scum. Wicked. Also none as " the dog"

Always a fave spot to pop in for a beer and tasty easy meal with the kid and dog in tow. Easy relaxed place (track pants are perfectly acceptable attire) which just has a good local feel about it. Sit outside on a sunny day or find a cozy spot inside when its cooler. As its dog friendly there are always a few doggies on weekend tired out from a run on the dog beach. Fridays are busy as are weekend afternoons.

Great selection of beers. Delighted to find such a dog-friendly venue. Food simple but tasty, and at good prices. Friendly, helpful, efficient staff. Suggestion: attach dog leash hooks to tables' under-side or centre-post.

This has to be one of the most accommodating bars in Wellington! We had organised a 1st birthday at Chipmunks then come down for a beer afterwards with babies in tow and the staff were so good about it even though they were so busy on a Sunday evening. Super kid friendly and I am so impressed with the atmosphere and our experience. Thanks so much guys for making it so enjoyable!!
