First visit-Good place for refreshment with nice and approachable staff. 2nd time visit - I recently had the pleasure of trying their chicken pie, and it was an absolute delight! The creamy filling was not only delicious but also incredibly satisfying—I couldn't believe how full I felt after just one pie. And to top it off, their cappuccino was a perfect companion to the meal. But what truly stood out was the warm and welcoming staff, whose friendly service added an extra layer of enjoyment to the entire experience. This place has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorites! About their opening hours? Check on the photos

I just went to this place today, we ordered a kettle of tea and a coffee with tart tatin and fruit tart. I can say, they are yummy and cheap with a lovely staff that offer us a free refill for our milk. Merci.

My fav pie in town! Chicken and cream 😍 it’s nice, crispy and flaky. Nice spot to grab a coffee in Newtown. The staff is lovely as well.

Amazing service!!! I bought a few pastries, but hands down the almond croissant was my fav. This place is a must try if you are staying at Wellington Hospital.

What an indulgent treat in the heart of Newtown! Authentic French pastries that are incredibly heavenly and yet so accessible at 142 Riddiford Street. Their croissants are rich, delicate, and flaky, their Mille Feuilles cake is decadently creamy and delicious, and their cakes are superb. The service is always super friendly and prompt and the space is bright and beautiful. We love this place so much, we travel here on the weekends even though we live farther away. If you want authentic French pastries, come to French Cancan-you will not regret it!

My family and I love this place. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent. Pastries are the obvious draw card, but their chicken pie is the best I have had.

Recently this Cafe changed hands. The food is still exactly the same (amazingly delicious - especially the sweet treats!) The service is super friendly and attentive. I'd highly recommend it!

I was pleased to see that Cancan opens at half 8, which lets me stop by right after doing a school drop off. It's a lovely pleasure to unwind with a coffee and a pain au chocolat. It must be made clear that there's a magic involved in a croissant that is both firm and soft at the same time.

Lovely to be greeted with "Bonjour". A small, but lovely selection of pastries and reasonable coffee. One of my fav Newtown cafes.
