We had an amazing time at the Hudson celebrating my daughter's 21st. The service from Mazda / Jesse was outstanding. Mazda's friendly, outgoing, down to earth personality was so easy to relate to. Mazda worked tirelessly on the day to provide and meet our needs; he maintained a high level of professionalism, and his expertise behind the bar was evident. Mazda is a great communicator and demonstrated his passion and expertise for his position; he is definitely an asset to this business. The venue was very good. We were provided with the upstairs bar area, which was a lovely space that we could easily style. Thank you to the Chef who cooked our brunch meals. We are so grateful.

Popped in for lunch while passing time before a flight out of Wellington and had one of the best fried chicken burgers I think I've ever had. The Hudson has a nice vibe, there were people sampling whiskey, craft beer on tap (excellent selection) and as mentioned the food was bang on! Highly recommended!

American style restaurant with an equal emphasis on food and drinks. Many options on tap for beer/cider and an extensive wine list. Food was great quality, with aged steaks the feature.

I had the chicken burger and it might not have been the best choice. Medium size portions and in general good quality. The staff is friendly the service could be faster. They have a large list of on tap beers and a good selection of wine. The menu is not large so I expected more quality. But may be just my personal expectations where to high. A nice location at a central spot.

WOAP 2022: I applaud the Hudson for offering a unique challenge with their Spin-the-wheel Wheel of Porktune burger but was hoping for a bit more danger - seeing as the random options are limited to just the advertised spicy, smoky and sour. They give the option to choose so I went for the least-safe option of ‘spicy’ hoping for some Hot Ones level scovilles. Unfortunately the spice here is fairly tame. And the liquid factor is high so you may need extra napkins with this one. I enjoyed the burger all the same so can recommend it to any pork fans. Well seasoned chips and a Mandarin APA on the side rounded out a fine lunch. I also appreciate the mid-point check-in from the staff. I never know how to respond other than a big thumbs up, but it’s better than being ignored.

Short but good brunch menu. Bacon and eggs were well cooked. Would have preferred bacon to be crispier but personal preference. Good coffee and attentive staff.

After hearing so many great things about the @thehudsononchews bottomless brunch we were super excited to finally go yesterday 🍳 For $50 you get a brunch item - I got the pulled pork burger and it was divine - and BOTTOMLESS drinks for 2 hours which includes a mimosas, aperol spritz, craft beers and soft drinks 🍻 The staff were super amazing and our food and drinks came out incredibly quick! Super excited to head back ASAP - need to find another excuse to celebrate 😂

THE GORGEOUS CAFE PETONE This must be the most charming Cafe in Petone. The ham “sandwich” I selected was a delicious mix of ham, cheese, mustard and baby spinach warmed to perfection. The roll was more croissant than bread ... mouth watering! Table water was chilled and infused with citrus slices... coffee was creamy and perfectly made. I couldn’t resist the choc lamington, and glad I didn’t. It was the most delicious lunch and I am already eager to return. Bathroom was modern, spotless and pleasant. My only criticism would be the slightly surly staff... however they were so busy I would be hard pressed to summon a smile too - although everyone did receive a polite “thank-you come again as they can left”.

Superbly modern pub in a great location! The Hudson looks warm and appealing for the Wellington exterior and getting inside does not disappoint! This free house and stillhouse offers great New Zealand craft beer and an excellent range of international gins. This is all topped off with a secluded, upstairs whisky bar and excellent delicatessen. The Hudson is a revamped and modern take on a British gastro-pub. The craft beer list is kept so up to date they don’t bother with menus, instead projecting the current tap selection on the wall. For May’s Hopstock festival, the Hudson is hosting Liberty Brewing’s best beers and absolutely spoiling Wellingtonians. The gin bar has a spectacular range including Malfy’s delicious orange and grapefruit variants. Locals Denizen Gin also have high billing. If you’re unsure spin the $12 gin wheel and you’ll likely be treated to something new and interesting like The Botanist, Beefeater’s Pink Gin or a choice from the Handman range. Bar snacks are also delicious with curved meats carved and sliced in front of you. This is all topped off with a great wine list and superbly welcoming staff. The Hudson has a great atmosphere and is filled up when most pubs would be quiet. It’s a great option for Saturday afternoon drinks and cozy chats. Go here for a warm welcome and enjoy sampling your way through an excellent range of good drink!

Comfortable cosy pub that's an excellent place to head at the end of the working day. A favourite of mine.

A great bar with an excellent range of craft beer. It is a well stocked with wine and liquor too. Food is good and is made to order with fresh ingredients. Decor is a nice airy elegance with modern touches while retaining it's historical core. Staff are excellent, efficient and particularly good at recommending drinks if you feel adventurous.

Lovely space, and a great selection of beers. Wish I had come here for dinner, the charcuterie looks amazing - maybe next trip. Will be harder to find a time to hit the gin bar.

Great brunch! Good coffee! The customer service was ok, we weren’t offered more drinks or food once we had finished or been served. But the food was delicious
