The food was excellent in serving, seasoning and appearance. Even though it was not yet noon, the restaurant was still crowded with customers and the atmosphere was lively and good.

Came in for dinner and tried their vegetarian menu and it was superb! The fried tofu and veggies were amazing, had generous portions and easily fed a party of 6. Good value for money and food doesn't cost an arm and leg. It was quite busy but food was served quickly. Staff were friendly and even took the time to have a chat with us.

Almost perfect... At our hotel we search for a restaurant where our family will have brunch before we fly back to Auckland. A restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday. There are so many within 10 minutes walk and I chose to Little Penang on the terrace. There was another Asian cuisines nearby however, the reviews were not that great. Penang food has always been very dear to my heart as I have many wonderful memories of that beautiful Island. Plus, I have so many dear friends which I miss so much in Penang. People in Penang are different, most of them I met are down to earth, generous and friendly. Therefore, on this day, for this special occasion we chose Little Penang. I tried to call the place for reservations but I was told that they don't take reservations. When we were there, the place was crowded with so many people of different ethnicity and therefore I concluded that this place must have good food that draws the crowd. We nearly couldn't find a place for 6 of us and I was about to look for the lady that assured me that is no need to make any reservations. This place is more like an eateries, open kitchen concept, king clank of the wok, order at the counter and quick meal kind of restaurant. It is noisy but exciting and have to raise the voice a little to order food. Therefore, we were prepared not to expect much service and attention. Everything on the menu looks fantastic and many of my Penang favourite is on it. Sadly, some special food like the Hainanese Chicken Rice, Bah kut Teh, Assam Laksa, and Hokkien Mee only happened on certain weekdays. Anyway, there were more than enough favourites of mine to satisfy my gang of 6. This is what we order; 3 different kinds of Nasi Lemak, Char Kway Teow, Hokkien Char, Otak Otak, Lor Bah, Clay pot Rice, Char Siew Bun and Lemon Chicken Wings. The Nasi Lemak was great, Kapitan Chicken, Nyonya Chicken and Masak Merah Chicken. But my daughter's and mine opinion, the Masak Merah Chicken came in first. Chicken drum stick soak with spicy sweet chilli...sedap! The other both curries are just as good, though the chicken is a little tough but edible. Otak Otak was not really up to the standard and some how the fish meat inside is tough. The Claypot rice could have been better if not for the rice is a little too wet and the back sauce... does not taste like the special Malaysian black sauce - Cheong Chan Thick Caramel black sauce. (best!) However, the highlight of my brunch was really the Char Kway Teow and Hokkien Char. True authentic Penang style and I was really satisfied! When I bite into the crispy pork lard, the most important ingredients in a stir fried noodles. And of course, the skill of the chef must be also very good as I can taste the sweet aroma and fragrance of the wok hey! Lastly, a little disappointed with the Lor Bah, as it is not really fresh. But when I highlight to the manager, she was kind to offer to give me a new o e but I turn her down. I just want this eateries to keep up the good work and uphold the reputation of authentic Penang Cuisines. Would I come back for more even though I had my colon cleansed? Sure, why not! Hehehe...

Food served quick and efficient. We didn’t have to wait for too long. I ordered cha kway tiao, prata with pedas curry, and their Tuesday only menu, bak kut teh. I also ordered, one of the dessert, sri muka. Everything is just soooo good. You can feel the char on char kway tiao, i would love to come back just for the char kway tiao.

A nice place for good food. They serve good quantity so it's quiet filling. Usually a very busy place. Long queue to order food. And a big wait to follow. But the food was good. Staff are quiet nice. So I would be going there again. Definitely recommend it if you want to eat Malaysian and you are near Terrace. I wish they had a way to order food ahead of time. So that I do not have to wait...

Trust me when I say that their Char Koey Teow is gooood. I’m a Penangnite and we take CKT very very seriously and this plate of goodness did not disappoint. Highly recommend! For ppl who like spice, do remember to order it with extra spice. Taste exactly like the ones we have back home.

Incredible food; I had steamed fish with rice and a mango salad and the flavours were just incredible. The fish was succulent, the curry flavours were perfectly balanced by the brightness of the delectable salad and the combination was simply delicious. I will be back, and likely often. Loved it!!

Good clean place for dining. Ambience is good. Food portions are pretty big and the service is good. Can’t complain about the food but it’s not the best Malaysian food I have had.

This was my first time eating Malaysian food, and wow, what an experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very lively, the staff were efficient and friendly and very professional. And this is all before we ordered any food! I ordered some drinks first, myself having a salted lychee soda and my family had the Milo Dinosaur - the drinks arrived very quickly and were delicious! We then ordered some food, first up some lemon chicken wings and Nyonya platter entree's. These were both well cooked, the chicken wings being tender and juicy, and the lemon sauce was a perfect compliment. I then ordered the Char Koay Teow with Chicken. Wow it was amazing, the noodles were cooked to perfection, a little bit firm but hot and tasty. My family ordered the Nasi Goreng rice and they left nothing on their plate, meaning all was good. If you are looking for a tasty, healthy option - this is the place for you. If you have never tried Malaysian food, I highly recommend trying it here!

My favorite Malaysian restaurant in town (they have another branch in Dixon Street near Cuba Street). They serve the tastiest Mee Goreng and Nasi Goreng I have ever tried. Their service is fast, the location has easy access to Lambton Quay, the place is clean and no need to wait for a long queue during lunch time because the cashiers are really quick in taking orders. Most recommended restaurant to try!

Very appropriate name as the best Malaysian food comes from Penang. In this case it's the best tasting Malaysian food in Wellington and VfM in cost 😀

A great and busy restaurant that is full of delightful things. The Mee Garang is fantastic and so too if the Clay Pot meals. Very filling portions so expect to stay for a while catching up with friends.
