Great to have a suburban cafe to have lunch on a Sunday, so pleased not to have to go into the city. It was really busy and the satff were brilliant at catering for a big group of Marsden college girls coming in from the cold for hot chocs while families and friends had lunch. We had wonderful hot pies, perfect flaky pastry and a small salad offered on the side at no extra cost. The coffee here is super good. The right temperature and strength. There was a really friendly young woman serving and nothing was a problem. The smoothies are delicious. For about $40 for two adults and two children, food and a beverage is really good value, especially considering the high quality of food. Thank you, made our day!
Good over all! Cozy but a little bit dark inside. Food ok, coffee is nice, rich flavor and long lasting taste in your mouth. People are friendly, helpful! Pricing is good, parking is ok.
I've travelled the world,I've sat in many a cafe, but I have yet to experience the warmth and friendly service marsden provides. The go above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is a quality one.
credit has to the chefs for the exceptional food and the front of house staff/coffee makers. So many times coffee can be burnt or bitter but with these guys perfection everytime.
I dine there everyday And quite frankly anywhere else would be a disappointment.5/5 10/10.
Just go there to experience it for yourself.
A very cool cafe with great food and great staff. Congratulations Morgan on remembering my name.. 10+
Have eaten here several times in the past and always enjoy the experience.
Hidden treasure in the shopping complex. Nice cabinet and cake selection however some of the cakes were uncovered. The sandwich I got was absolutely delicious and everyone else enjoyed their food too. Coffee was ok.
I'm always a bit surprised with MVC, it seems odd that such an oasis of cool should be stuck in an otherwise conservative little suburban shopping complex. Its charm I think, is the mix of styles - formica'd american diner, juxtaposed against more standard cafe design with just a little positive grunge. Difficult to see a consistent theme, but thats what is interesting. Staff are friendly and helpful. I usually go for coffee - which is good - and occasionally the wee man - a big breakfast with black pudding and rocket fuel on the side. If you have nothing else to do, read the sugar (carbohydrate) content on the rocket fuel label - it never ceases to amaze me. Anyway the food is really good - eggs usually perfectly cooked which is one of my benchmarks. The MVC is good for sitting with your dogs outside, its kid friendly, and usually easy parking a few metres away. Karori has a couple of good cafes, and this is one of them.
My new favourite cafe - delicious pastries, pies and snacks. Friendly staff. Relaxing outdoor seating. The coffee is very good. Definitely worth a visit.
Most under-rated cafe in town in my opinion- great food, great service. Menu items and cabinet food are equally as delicious! And its not pretentious like some popular cafes are; nice and down to earth.
A great cafe with a local vibe in a busy suburb. Food is excellent both the menu and the cabinet. I cant normally go past the big breakfast /or vege breakfast. But beware(happy), they are a very large serving so the sportsman breakfast is comparable to other cafe's serving sizes - which makes for good value. Totally addicted to the creamy mushrooms. The quality of the ingredients is great, with consistently well cooked meals. Only downside is that it looks like it is run by owner operators with a strong focus on customer service, which sometimes can be a downfall because they are chatting to customers and not smashing out coffee's/food- but really this shouldn't put you off considering the high quality of the food.
I come here often; the cabinet food is imaginative and of a high quality. The fresh cabinet selection caters to a wide range of dietary needs. I really love the savoury rice cakes, the fantastic rhubarb and custard brioche (ooozing deliciousness!) and the savoury muffins are always good; I like discovering what is in there each time...sometimes brocolli, sometimes tomato...
My children love the curly fries and blueberry muffins; they are always moist and bursting with blueberries.
Keep up the awesome food :D
The staff were friendly and we most amazing savoury muffins I had ever tasted! My sister was also really impressed with her mocha. Will definitely go again, next time I am in Wellington :)
Great food and friendly staff
Top food - staff on their game
Easy going, no frills, quick and easy neighbourhood cafe.
Good portion size considering price. I had a breakfast burrito that was lovely :)
Delicious Cafe food, lots of options to choose from. We were all happy with what we picked.
Honest basic suburban cafe, standard cabinet food plus some options on blackboard. The decor is very basic. I only dropped in for a coffee while waiting for someone. "Large" flat white was enormous for a flat white, coffee quality was ok. Saw a huge bowl of French fries come out of the kitchen, looked so good, would have ordered some if only I had more time.
Great service, friendly staff, and great food and coffee. It's always great here, always busy. Christina is always a delight to see, always has a smile, and does a great job with coffee, service, and conversation.
Really handy straight opposite the supermarket and next to library and community hall. Level accessible entry with adequate room. Friendly service. Food good - in mid range category. They do Über Eats too which is very handy. My fav is their English breakfast.
Great scone apple date & orange. Loved it was wonderful. Great peppermint tea also. Made me feel great. My friend had a wonderful egg bacon savoury & coffee which she enjoyed also. Cheers
A classic basic cafe with good seating and off street parking. My coffee was excellent and the muffin was tasty.
Very nice, quiet and plenty of snack choices. Menu looked good, we selected from the cabinet and had great coffee. I should go more often it was so nice.
Coffee and eggs Benedict, simple nice, comfortable, nice atmosphere & I have visited before, I was visiting Karori Cemetery and usually do drop into Marsden Village Cafe from to time to time, lots of parking up the driveway, on the No.2 bus route, some nice shops to browse as well.
A quaint cafe located in Marsden village. We selected a delicious custard slice from their selection of tempting sweets and paired it with a couple of flat whites. Order at the counter and food and drinks delivered to the table. A couple tables outside and now seating inside. Parking available on the street or in the parking lot out the back. We enjoyed our experience and will be back.
