Back in business and better than ever. Our family had the best food from Where's Charlie today. Pick up was simple, clean and perfectly timed. We had the best Pho, Bahn Mi, noodles, salads, spring rolls, Bao buns, rice paper rolls and more. We were so happy with the delicious flavours, great quality and cheap prices. It's such a tough time for businesses - support them today.
We ordered fresh rolls and spring rolls with pork, chicken and beef pho. Was a bit salty for me but tasted nice overall. The vietnamese coffee was a big let down since they didnt make it the way it supposed to be.
This place was recommended by a friend and it is hidden in the capital market. For Vietnamese food I always go for pho, it’s classic and if the pho is good then you know they have done it right.
The pho they have rare beef, spicy rare beef and marinated rare beef to choose from. The lovely woman told me they sold out of the spicy beef so I went for the marinated beef instead.
Honestly it might not look appealing but the soup and the beef taste amazing. It has to be one of the top 3 pho I tried in Welly so far.
Give it a go you will love it.
My first time coming here loved the food nice atmosphere staff are very welcoming and are willing to help out with any questions you have. Had the pork spring rolls they are really yummy and had the Pho beaf. would recommend coming here. I will definitely be coming back.
This is probably the best place to go to for a Pho!
Where’s Charlie is probably one of the best Vietnamese Restaurants in Wellington!
I totally recommend their Chicken Pho and lemon grass and chilli chicken noodles!
Check out my Ig for more info 😁
If there is better value, tastier Vietnamese good in NZ, please let me know. Simple, fresh flavours and all served up under the watchful owners eye. Really hard to fault.
I love the lemon grass chicken with chilli mayo Bahn Mi - it’s great value at $9 for a jumbo one. Def try this pl if you are visiting capital markets.
I always get the signature pho (beef) and it is amazing every time. The lady there is incredibly nice- 10/10 and would definitely recommend to everyone
this place is definitely good value for money and it taste great. the fried spring rolls are fantastic along with pork chop on rice. However i do find the pho a bit salty for my liking. this is one of my quick, cheap eating place.
Went out to find some cheap food randomly and stopped by Capital Market- the food course. This little Vietnamese joint grabbed my attention for some reason so I decided to give it a try. Again, I order the Pho with some fried spring rolls. The food was surprisedly delicious with all the needed complexity of favours in the soap yet maintaining a clean and crispy taste thanks to fresh herbs. Will remember this place for sure.
Great value, good Vietnamese flavours without having to pay arm and a leg. Where's Charlie looks tiny and humble, and it's part of the new foodcourt complex on Willis, but the food is comparable to some Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. I had the grilled pork and fried spring rolls noodle salad (only $11 and decent portion size), and fresh chicken spring rolls ($7.50). The ingredients were fresh and generous. The fried pork was a bit fatty and chewy, otherwise well marinated. I'd go back anytime, weekday lunch or takeaway dinner.
Got a chicken summer salad for lunch this week from Where's Charlie. service was really friendly. They have little buzzers they give you so you can go and sit down instead of standing awkwardly while they make your food. I ordered my salad hot, and it was perfect- lots of red chillies, siracha, mixed with a bit of lemon. Definitely my favourite lunch for under $10 :-)
Owners really putting their heart into the dishes they put out.
Taste is authentic and delicious, portion is good as well.
It's no wonder they are the #1 seller in Capital Markets. Prepare to wait for your order due to the high demand.
First visit here. I tried the Special of the Day. It was a Crunchy Honey, Soy & Chilli Chicken Salad ($10.50).
The chicken was marinated in garlic, honey and soy. The coated was light. The salad was basic but fresh with a mild nam prik style dressing. The dish also came with a spicy mayo and some fried shallots on top.
Tasty dish but quite simple. Enjoyable.
Amazing food and friendly service! Got prawn summer rolls which were brimming with fresh herbs and succulent prawns. Best summer rolls I've had. Ordered lemongrass chilli chicken on rice to follow. Wow 😍 so perfectly balanced and a very generous serving for the price. Will definitely be back.
My first visit to Capital Market and will definitely be back! Really cheap and tasty, quick to arrive, and the whole food court is nice and clean. I had the chilli and lemongrass chicken which was delicious and understandably their best seller.
Best Vietnamese in Wellington! Always super tasty, great value and amazingly friendly staff. Haven't disliked a thing I've tried from there. Grilled Hanoi pork is an all time favorite for me and my friends.
Really good food, great value for money. Just along Willis St so very near the CBD. We really liked the vietnamese spring rolls and the lemongrass chicken. We're from Hamilton but we will definitely eat here again if we're back in Wellington.
Tim Haslop this place is amazing and has the best fresh Vietnamese food. Very cheap and have the Bahn Mi's ever. The staff are lovely and always super friendly. It's dangerously close to where I live too 😥😥
It's easy to see why Where's Charlie draws a crowd. The food is extraordinarily good, the servings are generous and the value is superb. The menu choices suit every season. Everything just tastes so fresh. The Beef Pho and Lemongrass Chilli Chicken w Crispy Springrolls are my regular goto dishes, but right now I can't go past the Vietnamese Calamari, there's nothing else like it in the city. It just melts in your mouth. Sooo good!
One of the best Vietnamese outlets in Wellington. I have been twice and each time I have ordered their Bahn Mi for $7.50. The pricing is really good compared to other fast food chains and the roll is filled to the brim with meat! Will be going there every time I need a quick snack to fill me up. Bahn mi is the most underrated sandwich out there! Go get some from here! You'll love it.
Amazing! The staff are so friendly and the lemongrass chilli chicken is ridiculously yum! It is always good, everyone I know raves about it.
Vibrant colours that explode in your mouth with such delicious flavour! Also extremely good value for $$
cheap, healthy and very friendly staff
Just had a very tasty pho, great price and super friendly service! My friend that I was with got the lemon grass chicken on noodles and also had nothing but good things to say about his meal. Would definitely come again and recommend to anyone looking for a great meal at a great price !
An authentic menu, flavourful food & friendly, helpful staff makes this a great dining experience. The portions are generous, so definitely value for money. Creme Brulee - great addition to the menu. Will definitely make this a regular dining destination.
Bhan Mi and Pho were excellent, $21 for 2 people is not too shabby, shame they didn’t do Vietnamese coffee. Only downside is the only seating is in an area filled with birds trying to eat your food. Good value for flavour ratio and worth checking out if in the area and fancy some Vietnamese food.
Yummy Pho. The facilities need cleaning and updating.
Great Vietnamese vermicelli and spring rolls. Located in the capital market. They have another branch on lambton quay. Hippie Vietnamese fashion.
Pho is good, make sure you get the extra sauces!
One of the tastiest Banh Mi I've ever had. I've already gone back for a second.
Summer rolls to die for 🤤🤤🤤 the rest of their menu is good & average
Love the salad, a big bowl for $9 oh yum!
Lemon grass chicken on rice probs one of the most killer dishes around town
Fast, friendly and delicious
