So delicious. The wings were phenomenal. Got the Level 1. Don't go level 0, you NEED the spice. The white bread at the end is an authentic touch. The Jam Donut is mint aswell, freshly cooked. Go here!

Delicious tender chicken and crinkle cuts chips. I was a chicken (pun intended) and went for the 0 but as I was waiitng I heard many warning about the heat of the chicken so be warned. The crinkle cut chips were great, I'm an Aussie and we don't get these often so I enjoyed them. The spice was perfect on them.

I'm a seasoned chili eater. I absolutely loved the boneless meal with Carolina reaper (level 4). If you like chili then you need to come here so you can truly appreciate how well Carolina reaper goes down when combined with the juiciest chicken around and well complimented by that Nashville seasoning. From start to finish, my experience at your restaurant was nothing short of fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who were eager to assist me in selecting the perfect meal as it was my first time here. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. The chicken was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and ultra JUICY on the inside, with just the right amount of breading. And the spice! - mouthwatering just writing this review the next day. Overall, I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you're a fan of chicken and spicy food, you absolutely must try the Carolina Reaper chili chicken at this place (even the Habanero/Ghost Pepper version also available would have been delish). The combination of flavors is truly unique and unforgettable, and the service is outstanding - The frontman behind the counter was very down to Earth and kindly appreciative of both my custom as well as my request for something VERY spicy. Next time I'm in Wellington, I'm coming back to visit. Note: food in pictures may look small but they were actually very generous portions which took me all the way to dinner.

I've been to Soul Shack a few times. This time I went to take advantage of the Wellington Advent Calendar deal of $20.00 for one of the sandwiches with a chips and drink but I have attached the menu as of the date of this review. Normally I go for level 3 spiciness which is pretty intense for most people. I kind of stalled while choosing this time and it revealed how invested the guy was in the food he's serving as he gave a really balanced explanation of the different spice levels. I actually went for level 2 this time to try it out and I would say it's a good level that most spiciness enjoyers would like without having to be too challenged. Thank you for all the great chicken, Soul Shack!

chicken was good and the jam donut was so warm and yummy, but my chips were cold? very odd.

Five heat levels, Zero to four, on the chicken. I had a two, I found it medium hot with excellent flavour. The fries were crinkle cut and dusted with flavour. Fast and friendly service. We were told you can ask for special requests, e.g. a two with a hint of three. A friend had a four a while ago and advised me against it, LoL.

I always love coming to Soul Shack, had a slight issue with the food tonight and mentioned it to the guys and they straight away cooked me a fresh burger and gave me a drink. Great food and great service ❤️

Pretty good. Peaches in Auckland is better if we're ranking Nashville chicken places, but I'd go here again

Needed something deep fried over the weekend to help recover after a long night and Soul Shack (they currently don’t have socials) was the first thing that popped in my mind 🍗 Grabbed the double sando, boneless bone meal and some extra fries on the side to share 🍟 the thought only occurred to me that, that was the first time I dined in since they moved to Victoria St many moons ago. Such a great atmosphere in there and definitely worth dining in 🔥

Ordered 2 burgers, a Level 1 and a Level 0 (mild). Pretty sure we were given a level 4 instead of a mild because it was spicier and way more coated than the level 1. The level 1 burger was mean but neither of us could finish the other burger as it was too spicy for us. Didn’t eat in the restaurant so I wasn’t able to ask if it was the wrong burger.

Great spicy fried chicken! I got wings at level 2 heat and realised I need to work on my spice game. Great to see actual spice with great flavours. If you're looking for somewhere to test your spice levels, this place is highly recommended. When it's really busy I can see issues with a lack of outside tables, but if you can takeaway then you'll be fine. I'm keen to try more from their menu, the chips looked promising. Also worth noting they're quite popular and tend to run out of stock so worth popping in earlier rather than later. Definitely worth a visit 🙂

So we got a standard burger, 2 wings at level 2 (Birds Eye) and 1 wing at level 3 (Ghost) and some fries. The burger was exactly how I envisioned, nothing spectacular but tasty. Level 2 wings were nice in spice level but very grainy with the spice. Level 3 wings a tad too spicy for me but had a better flavour. I would ask for level 3 again but ask them to put less on it. The fries were perhaps the best thing, consistent, crispy and great flavouring. Another reviewer said that Peach's in Auckland was better. As an Aucklander, I am going to disagree. Peaches has a bigger menu and gives a lot of variety. I think the different flavours of chicken better from Soul Shack. I also like how it is more versatile since you can order individual wings. They have no thigh pieces when I was at Soul Shack so that was the only disappointing thing. Soul Shack also needs to have a wash basin for people.

Best spicy chicken burger in new Zealand. Chips were perfect and cauliflower chips were epic. Thanks to the soup shack for making a great meal.
