We were at the cuba street restaurant tonight, the food was great and the staff were wonderful! Srikant was the best waiter!! He was friendly, welcoming, informative , and professional. Made my night. #payrise!
Good for vegan options!! Onion bhajis came so quick after we ordered them and they were so good!! Curry was delicious and 3 one direction songs played while we were there! Will be back!!

I am so impressed with the team at Tulsi Petone. Last night we got home and one of the Curries was not in our bag. I rang them up to let them know and not only did they cook us a new one, they delivered it to our home. That's how to value and retain your customers. Well done!

Beautiful ambience and decor. Loved that it wasnt too loud or cramped, just a really nice atmosphere. Staff were really polite and friendly and the service was quick. Food was incredible. I got the vegetarian mixed vegetable curry which was slightly spicy for mild but delicious. My boyfriend got the butter chicken which has received poor reviews on here for being slightly sweet but he loved it. The mango lassis were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. A great selection of interesting naan breads which were delicious. Overall cannot fault the experience. Will be returning
Pretty good and tasty curry. I had the butter chicken which was very creamy and also had a side of plain naan which was amazing. Also tried a couple of my friends curries which also tasted excellent!
We weren't looking for Indian food when we set out, but happy to stumble in here. The staff were friendly and the food was tasty and plentiful. The access ramp was quite steep and the door opened outwards, so a bit of a balancing act in a manual chair, but there was plenty of space inside around the tables. GF and DF weren't marked on the menu so I guessed what I could and couldn't have as each item had a description.
I have been here several times both alone and with my family. I'm always happy with the service and the prices. Today I had one of the $8.90 vegetarian curry lunches. As always the food was good and the service friendly. It's nearly impossible to get a sit down lunch with a professional waiter in Wellington for the price. For this reason I give it 5.0.
Ordered takeaway to my hotel. Was friendly service over the phone and delivered up to my hotel room which was nice as i thought id have to go down to reception to collect.

Had this at a friends place, ordered for ten and it was absolutely delicious! They provided gluten-free pompadoms and vegan curry which was super convenient plus meat options. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Would return.
My girlfriend and I went to Tulsi on a Friday Lunch. It was slightly busy. We were greeted by a friendly staff and were seated immedietly.
We ordered their Chicken Korma and their new Jeera Chicken. Both were very hot and delicious. Chicken Korma is my favourite type of curry, I always get it; their Chicken Korma is definitely on my top 3. Mainly because this the most deliciously creamy korma I have ever tasted.
We liked the way they cut the naan bread into fours before serving them, because sometimes you just don't want to get your hands too oily trying to tear it.
It was reasomably priced, we did not have to wait long, and we were very full afterwards. We would definitely come back to this place.
I was a little apprehensive given some of the reviews below, but I must say I had a good experience. My friend and I went in for lunch as we saw the lunch deals advertised outside. I was very happy that my tikka masala came with a good amount of chicken (a lot of places give scarcely any meat) and my friend was very happy with her butter chicken. I was also very happy with the waiter who served us. He even advised me how I could adjust my meal so I could get a better deal (I wish I had gotten his name so I could compliment him here). A minor criticism is that my meal was a bit on the mild side when I asked for hot, but that's a small thing. All in all our lunch at Tulsi was very pleasant!
Went for lunch. Heaps of seatings available. Got lamb korma, naan and mango lassi. The portion looks small but dont get deceived by it. It does makes one full! The korma was yum but the last 3 pieces of lamb is not as soft as the rest. Saw the staff makes effort to explain the lunch menu choices to an old lady who wants to do a takeaway. So I would say the service was good. However there was once where theres no staff at the counter to take the order. But the customers only has to wait for like 45 seconds before the staff comes back and serve them.
I loved my experience at Tulsi.

The service was great, didnt take long (was with about 30+ people) and the food was with us all within 15-20 minutes.
The portion sizes are great for what you pay, and is just mouth watering. We had some minor issues throughout the service, which may have been a language barrier but all of our problems were sorted immediately and with great professionalism.
I would highly recommend Tulsi, and every Butter Chicken i now get is comapred to a Tulsi.

As a weekly take away and dine in customer, you can trust me when I say that Tulsi is one great restaurant! Clearly all the bad reviews are from customers who have only been there once, and have totally exaggerated how 'horrible' their experience was.
My wife an I have enjoyed the service and food at Tulsi for 3 years. We have tried most of the curries, which are always a delight.
Our favourite curries, vegetable, paneer and seafood are delicious in their own unique ways.
The breads hit the spot, are fresh, and with the right amount of crispy and soft.
The curries are spicy when we ask for hot, and are creamy and sweet when we ask for medium.
The waiters are so friendly and helpful. They always have a smile for us and are so polite. As a lover of vodka and redbull, I was surprised and in awe, when I asked one of the waiters for vodka and redbull, and then saw him leave the restaurant and bring back redbull to make my drink!! He went out of his way to make the drink I wanted! What a star!

Food was excellent. Ambience relaxed and decor classy. Service was good, but not incredible. We certainly weren't fussed over. Entree of chicken was excellent. My 12-year-old daughter had chicken biryani which was very good. I had a chicken dish (forgot the name of it) whch was also very good although I asked for medium hot, but it was more like medium. Wine list is not extensive. Overall I would come here again. The food was very good and satisfying.

I love the food at tulsi. I will recommend Tulsi at Miramar than the one in Cuba St. Bcz its always quiet there. Especially when we have kids with us. I celebrated my lil one's bday party at Tulsi and food was good. We got great service. We didn't pay for the party hall. It comes free. Only thing i didnt like in the party was that i expected that they ll arrange food in a buffet style. But it came out in small small portions. But it was okkk...
Good prices, and polite service. I had the tikka masala, which I recommend, and my friends ordered a top notch butter chicken and a flavoursom saag panneer.

The people there are really friendly and have a tendency to remember faces so you can just walk in and have them already know what you'll be ordering.
The garlic naan bread is delicious and worth paying an extra dollar for.
Tulsi is fantastic. The food is great, the service is friendly, and I have enjoyed myself every time I have eaten there. Whether in a big or small group Tulsi is awesome!

Tulsi is a fantastic place to have a meal and a few drinks with any number of people. The staff are relaxed and friendly and the service is consistently prompt. The wide variety of tasyy vegetarian dishes was fantastic. Excellent if you want to take a large group and bring your own wine.
Tulsi really is a great environment for an enjoyable meal.
The service we received was superb and well catered to the needs of our group.
The atmosphere of the restaurant provided ideal for a group setting, and proved reasonably priced for a group of students.

Tulsi is absolutley breath taking, the restaurant is perfect for any occassion, large groups (which you can hire the downstairs room) or just ask for a large table. it's great for casual dinners, and then a great place to catch up with mates.
The food is without a doubt the best indian in wellington, i recommend eveyone to it.
Monty and the guys there are really friendly and always make sure you're 110% satisfied.
Was here on Sunday for lunch. Had their lunch offering which consisted of a veg curry, naan and plain rice. It was pretty filling. Food and service at the restaurant was very good. The restroom was clean. There were not a lot of customers at the time I was there, but the few who were there seemed to enjoy their meal.
Definitely worth the visit! We ordered butter chicken and it was delicious. We've tried many butter chicken restaurants around NZ, and this is probably the best butter chicken I've tasted.
P.s if you can't handle spicy, get mild. I got medium and it seemed hot to me but still sooo good!
We totally enjoyed our lunch on the run. Our meals were yummy, and along with the Naan bread and rice, was more than ample for the two of us. We were warmly greeted on arrival and were seated and served quickly. Our waiter was extremely efficient and overall, was a very pleasant dining experience. The reviews are mixed for this restaurant so I guess we got lucky and caught them on a good day.
It has been a long time since my wife and I had lunch at Tulsi but it was as good as we remembered in the past. It wasn't busy, waitress was very polite, calm and efficient - chef who brought the food out was cheerful and nice - portions were a good size - everything was tasty and pretty good value for money - all in all a good place to go for a tasty curry for lunch
Just had our lunch there and belive me I was surprised with the food. Haven't had this good food in wellington before. Customer service e was excellent too. 10/10. Keep it up. Will be back for more. Thanks guys.
I loved it, the Curry was super delicious and the Garlic naan are amazing. I went 5 times to this place and keep going back. I absolutely adore their food.
I did not put the last star cause I actually think that it's not enough, when you see you dish coming you'll find a tiny bowl with more sauce than chicken. and they should have other deal with prawns and not only the vege/chicken Tulsi Special. I'd love to be able to eat something else than chicken for a reasonable price.
Food was alright, really spicy if you want. Costumer service was really nice but it was a very quiet lunch time. It is a huge space, nice comfy chairs and big tables. We had the special lunch menu which was really cheap around 9.50 nz $ and it comes with rice and nan bread.
Wonderful authentic food! Love the flavours, service excellent, nothing is a problem. Best butter chicken in town. Whenever I visit, I am always tempted to go back the same week. Highly recommend.

They have the best butter chicken I have ever eaten. In fact, it might be the tastiest dish in the whole wide world, ever. Whenever I'm back in Europe, this the main thing I miss about New Zealand.
