Tried the pork buns (which were super fluffy and flavoursome) along with a few other dishes on Saturday and am already planning to make it a regular treat! I have never had noodles like that before, they were super soft and melted in my mouth. My new favourite take out spot.

Best food in Wellington, couldn't recommend it any more! Have nearly tried everything on the menu and most specials and am always amazed at how consistently good it is!

By far my favourite place to eat. The food is really amazing. Great amount of spice if you like it hot and some really tasty dishes on the menu. Highly recommended.

Home made noodles are not easy to come by in Wellington but these are super yum. Do also try the braised beef noddle soup, the fried squid (makes a laugh of any yam cha place in town) and the fried taro balls for a sweet treat.

I had the vegan suan la fen and it was the best noodle soup I’ve ever had. All the flavours were delicious and it’s just what you want on a cold day! Sadly I don’t live near this restaurant but I can’t wait to go back another time just for those noodles!!

Lots of vegan choices. Anything with fried tofu here is a winner. The fried taro balls are my favorite dessert (without the condensed milk, of course). Crunchy on the outside, soft and gooey inside. Especially good when it’s cold outside. Yum, yum, yum

Loved the hand pulled, home made noodles with chicken broth 🍜 dish for $10. Great portions with flavourful spices 🌶 and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Chicken 🍗 pieces also had a nice kick to it.

Definitely recommend if you want fresh and home made noodles.

Handpulled noodles in chicken broth + crispy squid tentacles are my go to. Delicious and packed with flavour. I could seriously swim in the broth, though the pool would end up empty.

True to their name, A Taste of Home serves up some truly delicious flavours for an amazingly affordable price! We had the soy glazed pork belly on rice, and zhajiangmian (black bean noodles). The pork belly was tender and had a great umami flavour, and the vegetables fresh. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and had a great sauce-vege-noodle ratio.

Went there just before they opened and there were already 2 people waiting 👀 had a big afternoon snack before that so I couldn’t order much food but their yo po mian was awesome! $10 but it’s bowl full of goodness. Hand pulled noodles were nicely cooked and chewy. I actually loved their spiced egg so much and I would have ordered more if I wasn’t that full:)

The Yo Po Mian (hot oil noodles) are some of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. The milk buns are sooooo good too. Basically like a perfect donut covered in condensed milk.

Love this cheap eats place! Good portion size for a good price and quality food. We ordered a hot and sour soup noodle w/ extra chicken, and a hot oil noodle w/ wonton.

The noodles were very well cooked, especially the hand pulled noodles - chewy and wholesome. The soup in the hot and sour noodles were fragrant and had a spicy kick, most importantly it wasnt oily even with the chilli oil.

The chicken bites were tender with a thin coating of crunchy batter, and had a spicy and tangy seasoning.

The wontons in the hot oil noodles had a delicious pork mince filling, and the accompanied spiced egg was nicely marinated.

I really loved the wonton soup and Dan Dan mian. Also their little bites are really good! Had the calamari and it was fantastic! The batter and the salt were well done, and it wasn't too dry, still a bit moist inside. Excellent!

This place is an absolute gem for Sichuan food lovers! The hand pulled noodles are a must - the flavours and textures are vibrant and rich. Be warned that even the medium spicy can be very hot for the uninitiated. Can’t go past the milk buns either - perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It can be super busy at times but worth the wait.

The food is delicious, indeed a taste of home. They provided me food that I am really craving. I'm glad to finally eat here. There are times that they are only taking online orders but I was able to dine here Thu, 11-1:30. They mostly open 10 am. You're wait is depending on the queue. Per meal might take 5 to 10 minutes wait. The meal is worth the wait. Definitely coming back next time.

We’re very familiar with Asian food (especially noodles) so I have to say that these noodles are wonderful! We ordered the glass noodles, hand-pulled noodles with chicken broth and spam (chose the mildly spicy option) and fried squid. I ate the hand-pulled noodles and found it absolutely delicious. The broth was full of flavour. The noodles were cooked just right so it wasn’t too soft, too chewy or too hard. Really wished we were staying a day longer so I could return to try the spicier options. Suggest adding spam with your noodles if you are not keen for vegetables only.

I love this place so much! My absolute go to when I'm buying lunch. The Yo Po Mian (hot oil noodle) is simple but delicious, I often get the crispy squid added on. I also appreciate that they are a friend of Reusabowl <3

Amazing food, always a craving of mine. I get takeaway here pretty much every month. There is not much space to dine in so just get it takeaway, definitely worth trying. I do miss the spiced egg though (please bring it back)

great noodles! good to have a hand pulled noodle spot here in wellington. i ordered mild dandan noodles with hand pulled noodles (instead of egg noodles) and removed bean sprouts. as another user said, the spice levels are are quite high so would recommend starting with the no spice or mild options just to gauge ur levels at this restaurant. will be back as hand pulled noodles are one of my fave dishes. dish was very yommy. ps don't wear a white shirt LOL

One of my favourite places in Wellington, and definitely my top place/recommendation for noodles. I've always been happy with my food here, no complaints. Just a note, the spice levels here are slightly higher than you might think. I would recommend starting with mild just to gauge the spice levels here. I would say I have average/common spice tolerance, and the Taste of Home Medium level spice is neeeaarrllyyy too spicy for me. It is manageable, but quite spicy. The dan dan noodles are great! You can never go wrong with those! I love the milk buns to finish it off. The taro balls are a new favourite of mine too!

Still the best yo po mian I've had. No other eateries come close, and I've been searching hard whilst living abroad... Hand pulled noodles are perfect every time and flavours and spice level are on point. Always add the delicious braised pork. A bit gutted you no longer get egg with it!

Tried 2 of the best noodle dishes I’ve had outside of East Asia today! The Dan Dan noodles stood out! Medium spice level cleared my sinuses while eating the noodles and my bowels the next morning ;)

I was so excited to come here and I’m so glad I did. I ordered their daily special which was vegetarian dumplings in hot sour soup and they were out of hand pulled noodles so I just took whatever the staff recommended. The soup was pretty good but I would’ve loved it to be more sour. The dumplings were great and the small, thin noodles were a good addition. The soup travelled well and remained hot within the container. It cost me $14 which is great value and I can’t wait to come back again and try something different.

Absolutely beautiful Chinese cuisine prepared with care and thoughtfulness. Complex flavours balanced and married perfectly just so so good, I may be addicted. Offering vegetarian and vegan options that are just as good as the meat dishes is rare, everything on the menu is amazing.
