Great little place for a bite to eat. First impressions really do stick especially with this place, amazing coffee, delicious pastries, awesome barista and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back and 100% recommend to anyone else looking for a good coffee or somewhere to eat. I believe they have quite the wine selection too so definitely worth a visit.

Super wine list plus the cheese and charcuterie is great for a light meal. Spot the locals diving into this little place for coffee or a sneaky cocktail.

Cute local café serving strong coffee and cabinet baked goods. There’s also a menu for cooked food, and it looks like they do dinner and drinks too. Every Monday they offer a $5 cheese scone and coffee deal. I arrived early and was advised that the chef usually brings down scones between 8-9am. With time to wait, I sat by the window with a flat white and a book. The cheese scone was worth the wait. The crust was crispy and bubbling with grilled cheese. The inside was moist and soft. Friendly service and laid back ambiance. Also looks like they have many regulars and returning customers.

Fantastic whole-in-the-wall French joint. Pinching the best parts of local coffee, French wine, cheese, and pastries, and mixing it all with a superbly thought out wine list, Le Samouraï is cool from top to toe. With high tables big enough for eight, or window seats perfect for a couple to people-watch from, Let Samouraï has one of the best positions in town. A little staff of two keeps the place humming with a stronger focus on wine by night and coffee by day. Go here for an exotic after dinner drink (like absinthe served traditionally) and enjoy lingering longer than you meant to. Perfect for sitting alone in and watching the world go by.

Le Samourai is a small bar just off Courtenay Place serving tapas and a wide range of drinks. It was named after a movie in which a hitman frequents a bar; the owner of Le Samourai wanted to create the kind of environment where a hitman would like to hang out (something like that!). Le Samourai regularly hosts events and on this occasion we tasted several cheeses from the superb Kaikoura Cheeses, presented by the proprietor. Le Samourai staff competed to see which drinks best accompanied the cheeses. A fun event in a cosy atmosphere and good value for money at $55 per head.

Hands down the best buttery cheese scone and cinnamon pinwheel in Wellington! Le Samourai has fantastic deals all throughout the week including my favourite $5 Monday special - coffee + pinwheel or scone.

I've always been greeted with a warm welcome when walking in and served promptly. The coffee is well prepared and the pastries are great, although often in short selection. This is a great place for a quick stop or to sit longer with a book.

Nice, quiet small bar space just off the noise of Courtenay Place. Great wine selection and an INCREDIBLY knowledgeable barman. Good to be able to talk with friends without yelling over the music of other bars.

OMG, the cheese scones are bloody awful. That's why I go back for them whenever I can. Sorry Ministry of Food. Someone has really mastered the cheese scone!! These are so blardy moorish I'd buy shares in the chef if I could, so he could make them at my beck and call.. Cheese lovers, this place is a must for scones, and the coffee comes nice n hot too. Well done chaps!

Dropped in with some friends for coffees. Wonderful hot almond milk coffee and only $3.50. Has to be the best and cheapest coffee in town. Friendly staff and the cabinet food looked great.
