Almost the best mee goreng I’ve ever had, but the chicken let’s it down. I must admit I haven’t tried the other proteins but fix the chicken and your onto a winner 👍🏻👍🏻

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our take away. The beef satay and peanut sauce were perfect. We both loved the garlic and cheese roti. We also had mee goreng (noodles), nasi goreng (rice), and mango lassi. We'll definitely be back.

I've been searching for an authentic Gado Gado since the 80's in Sydney and I have found it!!
Pratha 2 Go do the best Gado Gado, awesome peanut sauce, tofu, boiled egg, cooked veges and sprouts.  A tasty vego dream packed with protein that I will never tire of.
Thanks guys!

One of the best Malasyan restaurants in town. Awesome laksa, great pratha breads, try the sambals or egg curries with yoghurt raita salad too.

Top notch food. Great flavours and at a very good price. I've been in while they do the prep for the day and I was very impressed with the standards they stick to. Great fresh ingredients and fresh spices! Highly recommended.

Recently found out that the chefs use to own that roti place on Willis street opposite miabi many years ago.

Ordered a beef murtabak, banana murtabak and a partha with lamb curry. The curry seemed a bit watery. It would have been nice if they offered how spicy we wanted the curry. The chicken curry only came with one piece if white chicken meat. Think it would have better if leg meat was used (not so dry) and more meat was included. Whilst the partha was made fresh to order the curry was heated in a microwave.

Partha was packaged in brown paper bags, whilst the banana roti was wrapped in tin foil, which meant by the time I rushed home the banana partha had gone all soggy :(. Would be nice if they drizzled the banana roti with cinnamon or maple syrup or even a little bit of icing sugar or something. The partha was not as flakey as it could have been, but none the less they did make it fresh unlike some other Indian/Malaysian palaces. Banana used for the partha was ripe, which meant it was sweet and tasty.

I would hate I think how many calories are in a piece of murtabak or partha.

Would I go back again? Most definitely! Need to try the other dishes eg laksa and beef rendang in order to determine how good the food is compared to other places in Wellington.

There are a couple of small tables, but as other reviewers have mentioned its primarily a take away place. I would recommend to phone in your order so you don't have to wait long. I had to wait 20mins and I placed my order 39 mins before closing.

Have been again in March 2013. I recommend ordering via the phone so you do not have to wait excess of 20 minutes for your food.

It would be nice if they were a proper resturant as the food is always better eaten when it's just been cooked. If you take it home, the roti etc.. gets a bit soggy - not as nice

Maybe I'm partial to living in Kelburn, but GOD-DARN-IT, if you keep serving up such delicious morsels of heavenly goodness, I am obliged to spread the good word.

Pratha To Go is another example of a take-away where you can get quality Malaysian food. Their pratha are flaky, perfectly greasy discs. You can get them stuffed with veg or meat. Or, you can just order them plain and dunk them in your curry.

Their beef rendang is spectacular as is their mee goreng. Everything is freshly prepared to your order, and one of my favorite things to do is watch the young pratha cook work the dough. He's got some skills!

Much of the menu is under $20 so you're not breaking the bank.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience! Obviously by the name of the place, it's designed for people to take out, so eating there meant we were served with plastic cutlery and a sparsely decorated place, but that kind of thing doesn't bother me :)

The food was fantastic. I had Chicken Sambal and really enjoyed it, it was nice and spicy and had decent sized pieces of chicken in it.

My flatmate had a laksa which he enjoyed. Both of us were sweating by the end, which is the sign of a good spicy meal by our standards. It looked like they had plenty of less spicy options if spice is not your thing (eg Butter Chicken).

I'm addicted to the groper curry! The fish is plentiful and the spices delicious. My son always has the Nasi Goreng; and my husband always orders the lamb curry. We'd like to choose something different, but we always end up eating our favourite dishes! The owners are very gracious - lovely people to deal with.

Awesome food from the chefs ex-Roti. Last time I went I picked up a fish curry and a couple of pratha (roti, basically - sorry if there's a difference?!) and that was enough food for two adults. Nice big chunks of fish and delicious curry sauce - spicy but not at the expense of tasting great.

Ordered over the phone and it was ready for pickup in only 20 minutes - top quality! The tikka masala was really flavourful (cardamom pods, mmm!) and the seafood laksa had a generous amount of prawns too. The roti, especially the dessert ones, are delicious, homemade and crispy, and the staff were nice and friendly. It is a bit expensive for regular visiting, but definitely worth it for the occasional treat :)

If you are looking for really tasty Malaysian this is the place to go. Chicken curry with two Roti bread and a side of peanut sauce - absolutely delicious! I’ve tried every Malaysian spot in town and this easily matches the most popular ones. My meal was under $20 - legit! I will be a repeat customer for sure. Nice work Upesh Kitchen!

Veg curry puffs were very nice, a little bit small. I ordered nasi lemak with beef rendang The rendang was great! It would be 5 star, however the nasi lemak was missing the usual cucumber, anchovies and sambal (but i was given sambal after asking for it). Overall, yummy food! Good portion size. Thank you!

This place takes butter chicken and chicken korma to a whole new level of flavour intensity. The home made roti shames other places with its taste and moist texture. The beef rendang has layers of flavour. This is amazing quality food and in a takeaway! A must visit food place that has a huge menu with no compromise.

High quality and authentic ingredients, flavourful dishes, and fresh roti made right before your eyes! There's something for everyone thanks to the great variety of classic dishes from Malaysia's melting-pot cuisine, including a fabulous nasi lemak that couldn't get more authentic unless you served it on a banana leaf.

I shared a meal with my husband and two kids (who are very picky eaters🤣) and they all loved it! It was quality food for an affordable price and the girl who delivered to our house was extremely kind! My kids loved the banana chocolate roti. 🍌🍌🍫🍫🍞🍞❤️❤️ 10/10 would recommend 😆😆😆

I had a really good beef rendang from here, and watched roti bring made by hand while I waited. Everything looks and smells great, and the menu is really varied and interesting, from banana and chocolate roti to the plentiful vegetarian curries. Lots of things to try, which I intend to do soon!

Really good beef rendang (richly spiced and lots of beef in it) and arrived to watch the chef making the roti fresh which was amazing. Definitely our new go to takeout joint in Kelburn.

Lovely roti. Great vindaloo. For people with dietary requirements: there is good selection of dairy free items and clear indication of which items are vegan.

The best! I wandered in without realising they had just closed for the night, but I was welcomed in and showered in the most delicious and delicate roti along with some spicy tummy-warming curry! I have been eating here all year, but this lovely experience made me want to share how great the food is and how lovely the people are. Thanks again, this curry made my night.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 10+ years. It was called "Paratha to Go" back then but now under new management, "Upesh Kitchen" lead by Chef Upesh makes some of the delicious, mouth watering South Indian/Malaysian cuisine available in Wellington. Chef Upesh is warm, friendly, approachable and prepares his dishes with precision, tender care, love and attention to detail. Some of my favorites are: *Lamb Shank curry *Chicken/Lamb curry with Roti *Goat Curry *Chicken Varuval *Veg Dosai accompanied by Chicken/Lamb/Dhal Curry *Lamb/Chicken Biryani *Mango Lassi is to die for:) Do try "Upesh Kitchen" when you are next in Kelburn area- I highly recommend it. Cheers, Jeev
