Lovely staff with a beautiful breakfast and coffee. Can’t fault anything at all, though the decor is a bit run down, but the food and beverages just take it over the top 💖 Love it and would come back again 😊
The food is excellent more than you expect, I had the big breakfast & eggs Benedict very. Well made and bacon was good quality. Toast was good quality . Mushroom great . Coffee good . Although place a little old like most places in Wellington the food was well worth it . We will definitely return again . Visitor from Parnell Auckland .
🍴Breakfast at MULBERRY GARDEN CAFE 🍒. Sat in their courtyard and treated ourselves with perfectly cooked 🥓& 🍌Waffles (maple syrup +mascarpone) and their signature Mulberry Big Brekkie 🥓🍳🥖🍄🍅. If you’re in rush then I will recommend grabbing their cabinet food & vibrant latte (my preference) / coffees & stealing a cozy spot in the backyard overlooking Mulberry 🌳.
The service is lovely but long wait times.
I rarely comment here unless a place is either very bad or extremely good. Have been going to Mulberry regularly for the last 6 months and less regularly for 12 months and being a regular cafe-goer around Welly/Hutt Valley I am yet to come across a place that has the consistency of here. Many cafe's will surprise and delight at times but rarely ALL the time. This is not the case at Mulberry. This cafe seems to be run by a duo that have their act sorted. The food is consistently good, although as a disclaimer I rarely venture from brunch - either Eggs Bennie or the 'Breakfast Special', and coffee's of various iterations. The eggs are clearly expensive and possibly organic with their bright orange yolks, and poached by someone skilled in the art. The bacon looks and tastes expensive and is always well-cooked but not over-done. The Hollandaise is either home-made or a damn good quality bought copy. Other people I go with venture into lunches and counter-food and all without fail are very satisified with what they receive.Only once I had an issue - the eggs weren't cooked long enough. I was discretely (so I thought) scooping the runny egg white to the side of the plate to see the extent of the problem, and if it warranted comment. The young lady running FOH saw me, and as quickly as she apologised the plate disappeared and replaced with their usual high-standard dish. No raised eyebrows, no "I can get you another if you want", just sorted. No questions. Coffee's are always good and arrive piping hot. Somehow that achievement is special, given the rubbish served up by other places.Nice work guys.
Mulberry garden is a wonderful little hideaway on willis st. I went for:
- A gorgeous cheese scone
- Excellent poached eggs and black pudding
- Great coffee
Would recommend on the food alone but the ambience is what really made me want to stay (great chill playlist squad!)
Good little wee gem without the crowd. Boasting a quiet sheltered courtyard out back, what more could you ask for. The service was good and the food was delicious. They offer an all day brunch menu as well as a lunch and small selection of counterfood items.
The only down side being a small cafe is that it is not very pram friendly cafe.
Please check out my website for an indepth review of my visit.
Came at 2:00pm and they still serve breakfast (points to that)
I had a large flat white and halloumi with grilled mushroom and spinach panini. My partner had eggs Benedict with salmon.
The panini was delicious! All the flavour balanced well.
Eggs Benedict was okay, the portion is also smaller than other places. Not the best.
Coffee can really compete with other places :)
OK
From memory this thin little cafe has had several hospo reincarnations. In the latest, as mulberry garden, it's been given a pleasant, intelligent feel with a good new garden area at rear.
Part bar/cafe/ with counter and menu food options. Menu is interesting, counter OK, coffee L'affare. Coffee pleasant, adequate texturing, good flavour.
Open late on Friday nights but afternoon closing on the rest of the week.
Midway between Hangar and Ti Kouka it has some pretty serious competition. I found the ambience more pleasant than Hanger but less sceney and coffee not quite as good - at the moment anyway.
Great coffee here. Nice feel about the place and reflects the name; exposed brick tile flooring and cute surrounds. Not huge so has a cozy feel about it.
Cute wee cafe that I didn't know existed until it was recommended for a coffee catch up. Cabinet food selection is great. Food off the menu is good although may take a bit of time during the busy periods. Neat patio area to enjoy Wellington's summer.
Fantastic place! I finally understand why my coworkers rave about this place.
Great counter food, and a great venue for after work drinks. The jalapeno poppers are a great free snack available on a Friday night.
I love this place! It's tucked away and serves excellent coffee and food.
I've had dinners here before and have had no problems with food or service.
My favourites from the cabinet are their bacon and cheese pinwheels, and their sausage rolls. The gourmet hot chocolates and mochas are also quite a treat.
Not sure if they still do them, but their jalapeno poppers on a Friday evening with a beer or wine are a perfect way to end the week.
Awesome food at reasonable prices and the service was great. My husband needed steak, eggs and chips (not on the menu) at about 11am, and the chef happily accommodated the request. Fantastic!
Very nice cafe - I think they're quite new, but they know what they're doing! Tasty food from the kitchen and also the counter. Great coffee too! They even do a $10 lunch thing, which is really worth it!
