It was a Sunday evening and came for the dinner.
Customer service is great and had a friendly service and food suggestions from Farhat.
Had Murgh Biriyani and Cheese Naan along with Masala Chai ( should try this) and they were awesome.
Im gonna come back..!!!
Thanks
Ok, I don't change my mind about Indian restaurants usually. Because this is the food that I grew up with. So very picky.
But this one I did. When I went here the first time in July, I thought this was one of those Indian joints for white people.
Posh. Tad expensive. Flavors toned down. Wasn't too kicked. Staff was great though!
But the second time no other restaurant was open on Diwali so went in anyways.
Ordered up food: Dalmakhni, Naan, Veg paneer curry. And boy was outstanding.
This time had flavours to mild and it was still punching. Still tasted like food back home. My friend who is a kiwi was in love too! Didn't think could beat two sets of audience with same food. They did :)
Very welcoming and amazing service from the team at Great India. The food was well portioned and cooked fresh. A hot towel at the end of the meal is the icing on the cake for me! Will definitely be coming back!
This is some of the best Indian food I have eaten. The flavours of almost every dish we tried were complex and layered, and the serving sizes are excellent for the price. The pakoras are the best I've had outside of an actual Indian kitchen, and the Dal soup was incredible.
The service is also fantastic, with a really nice mix of friendly and formal. A wonderful dining experience.
Went twice in two weeks as was in Wellington both weeks for business. First night was two of us. Food was awesome and fairly priced. Second week was a group of six. They tailored our meals for a group from entrees to mains and it was perfect. So much food for the price. And all of it was tasty. No complaints. Highly recommended.
Searched for Goan food on Google and this place came up, decided the reviews were good so would try it out when we visited Wellington. A shame that if only three people you can't reserve a table in advance but understandable. The waiter suggested an earlier rather than later time for dinning. We arrived just in time, the table was ready and we were given plenty of time to chose our meals. The food here is awesome to say the least, the menu gives you plenty to chose from and there will be something to suit most tastes. The dishes were rich and full of flavor. The staff were very pleasant and didn't hassle you, the restaurant was busy which made the advice of getting in earlier a wise one, would definitely want to eat here again.
Was a lovely meal and great service. Unfortunately a short lady left with my black woollen coat accidentally. I believe her and her partner were heading to the Credence Clearwater Collective show. The restaurant has my contact details if you would kindly return it. I left yours with them. Thank you🙏
Had the chicken Dopiaza and liked it a lot! Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience!
First time here - Tonight’s Lamb Madras ticked all boxes! The sauce was flavoursome and the perfect authentic consistency, the lamb was tender and fall apart soft. the parantha and naans were delicious. The service was amazing, all the waiters and the manager were just fantastic. They really care about customer service here. The warm cloth at the end was such a nice unique touch!
Indian curry that’s a little bit fancy, with service to match. Curries were tasty, packed full of flavour, not greasy and won’t make you regret it the next day! We came for dinner on a Saturday night, no booking, and found a spot easily. The waiters were very attentive, the prices were very reasonable.
Great India Restaurant is best place you can have the Great authentic Indian Food in Wellington. 5***** rating go to the team behind the taste of India and the best customer service I ever had in Indian Restaurant in NZ.
Without a doubt one of, if not "the" best restaurants in wellington. fantastic food, exemplary service. truly a must visit if you are in wellington.
The butter chicken is especially popular.
For those that want to live on the wild side there are some "off-Menu" items that get way, way spicier than a super-hot vindaloo.
