Cable Top Eatery in Wellington is a delightful dining experience that left me with a positive impression. I had the pleasure of trying a variety of dishes, including their beef pizza, spaghetti, and coffee options. The beef pizza was a standout, with a perfect balance of flavors and a delicious crust. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection and had a rich, flavorful sauce that was simply delectable. As a coffee lover, I appreciated their flat white coffee and cappuccino. Both were expertly brewed, showcasing the cafe's commitment to quality coffee. The ambiance at Cable Top Eatery was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal or grab a coffee. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Overall, Cable Top Eatery is a fantastic choice for a satisfying meal in Wellington. Whether you're craving pizza, pasta, or a great cup of coffee, this place has you covered. I highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Took the kids for brunch at Cable Top Eatery before we went to Space Place today. There were throngs of customers coming in and out, perhaps busier than usual given it was the school holidays. I was impressed with the service - prompt and calm despite the buzz of activity - we didn't have to wait long to be seated, have our order taken or served. The kids were given colouring sheets with a box of colour pencils to keep them occupied while we waited for the food to arrive, a pleasant distraction from rumbling tummies. I enjoyed their delicious NZ green lipped mussels steamed in cream Sauvignon, Italian parsley & served with buttered sea salt focaccia ($25.50) while the kids had a Mozzarella pizza ($12.50) and Fried chicken and chips ($12.50) from the kids menu plus a kid-size Carrello gelato ($5) each to finish. Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, plus the view overlooking the city is just amazing. All in all a great dining experience for me and the children :)

Great food, Terrific service and fantastic views. You can catch the cable car up, have lunch and walk back. There are two museums a perfumery and the cable car museum up top and a botanic garden

Recently returned from a holiday in New Zealand and took a cable car to view the beautiful gardens and on the way back we saw this restaurant as we were so hungry and decided to try it. I am so glad we did!!! I ordered the scotch fillett and asked for it to be gluten free with a cappuccino to be lactose free. The waiters/waitresses are all very lovely and ever so helpful. When the meal came out I was flabbergasted. It looked absolutely amazing. It was decorated with the most colourful and beautiful edible flowers and when I cut into it, it was like butter! The most tender and delicious steak I have ever had and it was on a stack of vegetables with roast potatoes and mushrooms. Compliments to the Chef! It was absolutely delightful! And the price was only $28.00 AMAZING!!! THIS REVIEW IS THE LEAST I COULD DO. Thank you so very much for making my trip more memorable. If I ever come back to New Zealand I will make sure I come and eat at your wonderful restaurant. Thanks again

Enjoyed such a lovely breakfast here after a ride up on the Wellington Cable Car - our friendly wait staff “Hendi” made it a super fun experience and recommended an outside table where we enjoyed the sunshine and the amazing view. Our food was so delicious, the whole menu looked yum and place as a whole has a very relaxing vibe. Extra Gold star for the service with a smile from Hendi.

Cable Top Eatery is my local. Living nearby means I can go ahead and grab that coffee and pastry without much thought. The coffee is good, and if you get there early enough, the pastries would still be warm out of the oven (though you can also ask for them to be warmed up). The food is tasty but on the high end for price. The view from there is fantastic though.

This restaurant honestly does nearly everything super well. The wait staff is so friendly, the food of all types are beautifully prepared and delicious —the chia pudding is flat-out incredible, the kids mozzarella pizza has a fantastic crust, the hashbrowns are super tasty — and the drinks are excellent. Their various iced tears are inventive and refreshing but their killer app is their kombucha, which is fruity, fizzy, and not that vinegary at all. Easily one of the best restaurants in Wellington, and I haven’t even mentioned the awesome views from this high vantage point.

To be honest I was expecting an expensive tourist trap being at the top of the cable car but we were surprised. We were greeted immediately and our waiter was incredibly personable and knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. The food arrived quick despite the cafe being mostly full. The mushroom on beetroot hummus and chicken Ceasar salad was incredible. Very clean plates by the end. If we were in town another day we would probably go back for the food and great service. Worth a visit.

We went for a coffee on a Sunday afternoon, The venue was very attractive , with stunning views. However it was very noisy and the staff member we dealt with was neither efficient, (no spoons with our cups) and not very friendly either.

Di and team were absolutely amazing for our daughter and son in-laws wedding would recommend them highly. We had the option of indoor or out door and to be able to have the ceremony and reception in this beautiful space was amazing. Thank you all for a fantastic wedding.

Absolute hidden gem at the top of the cart. Our server was so friendly and enthusiastic, I could tell he genuinely loved his job. Great gluten free selection, I had a gf French toast and took away on of the gf scones. Safe to say it's the best I've ever had! Well worth stopping in while you're up the top

Beautiful little spot, a shame we only just discovered it after living in Wellington for the past 5 years! Food menu is nothing special but delicious none the less. Didn't have to wait too long. My only critique would be that we had a table with high bar stools which were plastic, and were a little too unstable for my liking.

Beautiful view of Wellington and the harbour gets a five on its own. However, I also highly rate the lovely waitstaff, the excellent moist carrot cake and enjoyable coffee which was well done. We only stayed for 30 mins as we had a bit of time to kill, but regret not eating a full meal - some of the meals passing by looked great! Thanks team for making us feel welcome

We stopped in for some quick espressos to enjoy on the patio after exploring around the gardens in the afternoon. Staff was friendly and our drinks didn’t take long. The cafe is adorable with lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and views over the entire Wellington coastline. Great for a sunny afternoon! The outdoor patio is set up with taller bar tables as well as longer wooden tables with benches. We didn’t partake in the food but the menu also looked good! Would recommend checking out for breakfast or brunch, or an afternoon coffee and snack.
