A part of our bus tour, we made a rest stop here. I liked the ability to look down on the fish farm area and see some massive eels in amongst the salmon. Several on our tour grabbed some premade food for the road.
Nice cafe to visit for a break between drives. Love the smoked pepper salmon and salmon chowder. A good view whilst having the meal too.
I live in Hoki and was driving to Haast. Really glad to have visited the cafe. Stunning view. Dining area and water closets were kept clean. Excellent service, genuine and kind hosts from the UK both the cook and the cafe assistant. Another big plus was the Eggs Benny w Salmon was really yummy and v

Awesome food and amazing host. We loved our visit, fresh salmon was so yummy.
Nice little salmon farm. Staff was friendly, service was nice. OMG.. best smoked salmon ever! The colour, the taste.. It was the best one I ever ate. Whitebait omelette was delicious and great long black coffee. Definitely worth to stop and enjoy the view and salmons.
Came across this great little gem on our way to Queenstown on the west coast. Nice little eatery above the salmon farm; they breed their own salmon here. Good choices of fresh salmon, coffee/tea and friendly staff as well. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Good cafe to stop over for coffee and lunch. Service is fast and friendly. The salmon chowder and pan fried salmon are delicious. There are a few salmon pond cages outside.
A must stop on the drive through! We parked up for the night in the motorhome (free stop) & came in for a big breakfast. The meal was lovely! Came out quickly, generous size & super tasty! (The best crispy bacon in NZ our fussy daughter noted). Staff were bubbly, friendly & accommodating! Very cute
Clam chowder and eggs benny were delicious. Staff was friendly and polite. Lovely cosy place with mountain views. However, we were disappointed that there was no fresh salmon sashimi despite this being a salmon farm, and no rice despite poke bowl being a menu item. The food also took a little long
