Friendly service. We got there early and were serviced quickly. Food was good. Nothing was not good, but nothing was outstanding. Will be back for sure. Keen to try a few other things to see if there is a gem of a dish. Quite fussy when it comes to food.

Delicious food, nice little spot and child friendly. We have been here on a couple of our visits from Aus and always love the food. The food always tastes as you would expect, which makes the experience more enjoyable.
Just absolutely gorgeous and amazing. The restaurant situated down a small shop alley is quite a little wholesome experience. The building is not super fancy but the food for sure makes up, Japanese authentic food melts in your mouth. Price wise for the food is averagely expensive, but for Japa

This our most visited Japanese Restaurant since we moved down here to Whanganui in 2015. It's always the best place to go in town when we want to treat ourselves or to celebrate for an special occasion xoxo 💋 best service here, very polite staffs and warm welcoming from thr owner. Highly recommended
We were traveling through and spotted this place while walking through town and came back dinner.
It's obviously a favorite with locals, they were greeted with gusto as they came in.

Our party of five found the food to be delicious.
However, the staff had no knowledge of their wines. The wine list was scant and we enjoyed neither the Pinot Gris (one choice only) nor the Chardonnay (one choice only).
I suggest that Japanese Kitchen adopt a BYO option for guests and, if concerned

Great choice and variety of Japanese dishes. Ideal finishing choice of Matcha Ive Cream also. Excellent service and very friendly.

Nice place, great food, great service/staff. Pity the sushi was sort of worse than from NewWorld so would not recommend that for sure. Yet all other food we had ( dinner set) was great so we enjoyed the dinner time over there, got wined and dined fine.
