Rutland Arms - Whanganui - Photo album

What a lovely, relaxed place to stay right in the heart of the city. We had a big comfortable room with lots of old-fashioned charm. Everything was convenient and made easy for us by the great service we received. We will definitely be back.
Stayed here just one night but the staff were great. Really high quality service and super friendly. The room was large and nicely finished but being an older building we could hear our neighbor talking to herself for a while.
Warm friendly atmosphere the place was buzzing busy, our food was tasty and presented well. Only negative was portion size for money left us still hungry. The garlic bread was the absolute best
Historic building, nicely modernized. Interesting, good meals. Cozy fireplace in pub. They also have a different variety of beers. Not just the old everyday ones. The real deal 5 points.
Great old pub with maybe a dozen or so different beer types! Edit: Had set meal for 14 which offered a good selection to choose from. Overall good but not great. Curry comes without rice which the waitress explained was how the India chef said it was supposed to be like (weird if you ask me - peo
Great pub but actually more of a restaurant. Food never let's me down. It would be nice if they changed up the menu a bit more though. Very good selection of NZ craft beer as well as a good gin thing going on. It's a place we would always take visitors.
The best of everything. But the service was the best...happy, helpful, and chatty. The room was the cleanest and tidiest I have seen for a long time...Tino pai cleaners!
Great food and very friendly service. Lovely range of craft beers too
Loved the service of staff, excellent german beers and selection of refreshments....beautiful dinner The blossoms out front sure fire draw card
Rutlands arms ! Service was amazzzing! The staff are so lovely and beyond helpful and thoughtful perfect place for children our girl was given a book and a coloring picture and pens, amazing food location and service will be coming back
We had a great lunch plenty on the plate and very extensive wine list. Very pleasant staff go back anytime
Lovely pub to stay in the heart of Whanganui. Great decor. The berry compote and home made muesli, included in the complimentary breakfast, was outstanding.
Lovely dinner. Perfectly cooked steak but the absolute standout was the service delivered by the staff. Tops!
4 of us went in for dinner on Tuesday 11/4. Not overly busy and we all had a superb meal (steak, lamb rump and 2x fish & chips). Our server was top notch, friendly & chatty. She advised us of a 30 min wait on mains, so we got some garlic bread. Good wine selection and Guinness on tap.
Pork ribs were good and portion size is large. Plenty of fries, with maybe too many hot chips. But otherwise a nice dinner out. Would go again 👍
