I was in Whitianga with my wife for a couple of days and we would eat a burger somewhere. We found Base and we saw the menu inside. No vegan dishes were in the menu and we asked the owner (sorry I do not remember his name) and he proposed a vegan pizza. He cooked two different pizzas, the bases were
Aargh! My lips are burning but at least my eyes aren't watering. Meanwhile my wife calmly reaches for the last slice. We have just finished "The Reaper", a great Pizza with a fiery finish. If you are visiting Whitianga and fancy Pizza, Base Pizza is the stop you need to make.
We had takeaways tonight, we tried the new burger menu. I can honestly say that was the best burger I've had since we moved from Wellington. When you look around the table and see food on three happy faces, you know it's good! Thanks Henry for bringing burgers to Whitianga!
They may not be running a dine in service at the moment but we’re happy to takeaway when we’re based just five minutes down the road. Our pizzas were super tasty, the standout unsurprisingly being the base - light and fresh. Personally I would have liked a bit more of the Italian sausage but luckily
I had a great time here tonight. Gluten free options are available (just ask) which my wife appreciated. The kids thought the Korean chicken wings were the best ever. We'll be back 😁
The gluten-free pizza was the absolute best I’ve ever had! Soft, pliable, perfectly cooked and soooo tasty. My partner was verrrry happy with his delicious freshly made pasta. Generous pours of red wine and records playing too. Nice people - great place!

Was in Whitianga for a weekend away with the children from Auckland. First stop was this place to get pizza fix for dinner. The place is child friendly & very entertaining for little ones. Pizza was so delicious that we ended up ordering again the next day (children's request) 🥰

As a caoliac this is the only place I trust to get a pizza from!. Never had any issues and I eat here regularly. The food is always fresh. The service is great and the staff are fantastic.

Absolutely by far the tastiest pizza ever!! Chips were cooked perfectly as well. Wish we lived here. Great atmosphere and the owner and staff were very friendly. Highly recommended 🙂
