Too many cafes and restaurants to choose in arrowtown!! But this restaurant caught our eyes. The whole restaurant looked very fancy but the food for brunch wasn’t too pricey.
I ordered English breakfast and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was big and really nice. English brekky was very nicely presented and I didn’t even want to ruin it! I personally don’t like scrambled eggs to be seasoned and this one fits my requirement perfectly. Bacons were really crispy and everything else were all nicely cooked. The bread was not too soggy even after putting eggs on it.
Staff were very cheerful so definitely recommend this place to people going to arrowtown!
This was a very sophisticated place. Near the parking sites, its down behind the main street. Outside and inside seating. I had a voucher for a set brunch. Burger and fries. This was delicious. Juicy tender meat. Great looking fresh salad and those chunky potato type wedges. I left full and impressed.
Nestled next to some amazing walk/cycle paths in the heart of Arrowtown, is this little gem. The best brunch we have ever had.
We had made a booking for 4, for Brunch on Labour Day, through BookMe. We chose to sit outside.
There were 4 different choices to choose, all of which included a tea, or coffee.
We choose 2x Settlers Beef Burgers, 1x Pancakes and 1x Egg Benedict (with Salmon).
We also ordered a Iced chocolate on top of the teas/coffees. When a staff member came, we asked for the big umbrella to be opened, so there would be some nice shade.
The food was cooked with great skill. It was beautifully platted, and every bite was satisfying. The rosemary wedges that came with the burger were perfect on their own, tasty, a great crunch, and a nice soft center.
The egg's benedict was excellent, the only downside was that it was served on a flat black board/plate, which is not the best for dishes with a poached egg (runny yolk). Apart from that, it looked divine, and tasted amazing.
Our favourite dish though, was the Pancakes. They were perfect. 10/10 on all fronts. Highly recommend ordering them.
The bathrooms were clean, modern, good soaps and even were equipped with those fancy high speed hygienic hand dryers.
A few improvements I would suggest to Settlers, would be:
1) Ensure the outside seating area has the shades put up prior to guests asking for it, especially during Hot summer days, as the heat is blistering without. The outside is also the best location on sunny days.
2) Some how make the back end of the cafe/restaurant more inviting, or open. It seemed very dark and uninviting during the day, which for your fantastic nature surroundings, is a bit disappointing. Ideally more open and light filled.
3) Add ice to the jugged water you serve. Even maybe a lemon/lime slice.
Overall, this was a huge highlight of our trip.
For all locals or visitors of the Queenstown area, you should try this place out. We will, when we next return.
