Honestly... I have lived in Queenstown for 2.5 years and eaten at LOADS of restaurants, but this one blew me away! We tried 9 dishes and each one was absolutely perfect. We watched as the chef prepared the food on the tepanyaki grill and he was so lovely as he chatted to us about the cuisine he makes and what the flavours are. Would definitely go back!

Open kitchen Japan-style with inside and outside dining and from inside an unexpectedly dramatic vista across the lower valley towards the Remarkables and Queenstown. Attentive service, casual atmosphere, modest plate sizes which we thought would drive up our dining cost but our final cost of around $100 for two (food) plus our wine choice was fair value. The sushi and sashimi plate was first class in content and presentation. The pork brought back nostalgic memories of fine dining in Japan.

Very nice, step up from your average Japanese restaurant. Big flavor explosions.

We had tuna sushi, wagyu beef and the scallops with rice cakes which were all amazing.

My only mention is the size of the dishes are so small that one person needs 3 mains to be satisfied. So expect $100 per head on food alone for a decent meal.
