Stepping into culinary bliss at 1947 Eatery. From the moment we entered we were greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. We had mentioned in our reservation that we were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. Onkar the duty manager, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience.
The ambiance is a perfect blend of elegance and coziness, setting the stage for a truly unforgettable dining experience. They have an autorickshaw in the restaurant! 🛺
They have a great selection of cocktails & spirits, definitely try Kingfisher beer 🍻
And as for the food? Prepare to have your taste buds transported to a whole new level of deliciousness. Every bite is a symphony of flavors, beautifully plated and crafted with passion.
Authentic Indian food, we loved the Dum Chicken, Pani Puri, Seekh Kebabs, Roomali Roti, Samosa Chaat & the Jalebi. Trust me, you won't want to leave! 🍽️😍 🌟🥂
Definitely recommended! The best Indian food I’ve had in Auckland!
First time trying Indian Fusion and had an enjoyable experience!
The serivce was impeccable with servers looking after their table very well! Warm and cozy ambience and feels very city night life with dim lighting of the restaurant enough to see the cutural interior design.
Food came out very fast (except the Tandoori Chicken which the waiter said would take a bit longer). Each dish blasted with rich and fragrant flavours and spice level was just enough that you would feel a mere heat.
We got pani puri and curry chips as appetisers, the goat curry, Tandoori chicken, with some garlic naan. The chips were loaded with creamy curry sauce and topped with mayo and cheese. The naan was fluffy and soft and went well as a carb to go with the goat curry as the gravy of that dish was a bit salty but the goat meat was tender and lean. The tandoori chicken came out with a nice and smoky charcoal smell with a glaze of sauce and the meat wasn't too dry.
The restaurant is certainly a great choice for special occassions and caters to all eaters who may or may not be so familiar with Indian flavours but maintaining those unique fragrant notes of Indian spices in their dishes.
Came here for Auckland restaurant month menu. We decided on a late lunch; the restaurant was quiet, but seems like a good place for an intimate dinner.
Service could have been a bit more attentive, but wasn’t too bad.
The food was good; highlights include the malai chicken starter and the lamb and chicken mains. They cook with a tandoor here and the meat as incredibly tender and flavoursome.
The quantity of food for the main courses was pretty good; we ended up packing a fair bit!
All in all, a good experience and would like to come again for dinner
