In a very bold move this new joint has bravely named themselves Jolly Bird, I suppose something of a kiwi version of the famous filipino restaurant joint Jollibee, automatically placing some high expectations on itself.
I have yet to fully explore their menu, which consists of various flavors of shaker fries chips, spaghetti, fried chicken and ice cream desserts.
So far I have only tried the spaghetti and chicken, and so far so good! The chicken was crispy and juicy and the side serving of gravy was quiet tasty. The spaghetti was delicious and just hit the spot. It had that distinct sweet taste and just the right amount of hotdog pieces(my faves).
I'd highly recommend checking the place out. I'll certainly be going back to try out more of the menu.
The place is not good for dine in since we still need to follow social distancing protocol and to protect ourselves as well.
It is good for take out services and the location is good. Fast service earlier (for me) and friendly staff. But then because of the location the staff need to double time to accommodate coming in costumers so that it won't fill up the place with a lot of people that it becomes too crowded. Since the space is really for maybe 8-10 people (estimate).
The food for me first the chicken it's coat is too hard, it is crispy but it's just too hard for me. The spaghetti I ordered is a childhood taste made me smile :)
Just keep improving. Laban!
All Filipinos in Auckland must go and taste food here. Rather spending on KFC. It’s a small resto run by Filipino family /mother and you must support her business. The chicken is far better than KFC and spaghetti taste good too. Value for money. Guys go visit this place.
