Ahhh Pita Pit is usually one of my favourite places to go for lunch and even sometimes brekkie! I usually have spinach and mushroom as my vegetables filled in a pita and I just love it when they are toasted with cheese. However, today I'm pretty sure my pita wasn't toasted long enough as the cheese didn't completely melt and the mushrooms tasted VERY raw :( looks kinda raw too.... pretty disappointed as the service was lovely (as usual) and I've never had any inconsistencies in the food before!
You certainly end up with a pita, and you choose the filling, it tastes and costs the way you expect and it's simple to understand for us unqualified diners. The whole process feels a bit like a production line, there is no ambience, the main guy at the till is sweating profusely, having to wipe his face on his arms, and there seems to be a bit of confusion about who ordered what and what fillings are meant to go where. The highlight of the visit was Lily, who I luckily had filling my pita, and she was beyond amazing. Possibly the best pita/sandwich filler in the country (and that includes numerous Subways and Habitual Fixes that I have also frequented). Super lightning fast pita filling (too hard to detect with the naked eye - serious) and a pleasant smile in between each filling while waiting for you to confirm more choices. My suggestion ask for Lily!
A friend and I were famished out of our minds and decided to eat at the first place we saw. Pita Pit was the lucky winner! We went there uncertain about what they serve and exactly how good/bad it is but we gave it a shot anyway. And must I say we were surprised!
Our meal was extremely fulfilling. The concept of Pita Pit is very simple. It is a wrap with Pita bread as its base. They have all vegetables you can choose from on display along with the sauces you can add. Pretty much like a Subway but sadly they let you pick only two sauces :(
You can choose to have it toasted or have it just like that. Both of us picked the Chicken Caesar and were very happy with our decision.
There is no place inside to sit and eat so we took our wraps to the waterfront, which is barely a 2 minute walk and ate there (warning: beware of the sea gulls!)
Our first time experience with Pita Pit was so good; throughout our stay here we were craving for more!
