Popular and busy. Made a phone reservation. Restaurant area seperate from the bar. Interesting floor angles down towards the front. Probably earthquake damage. Some cars on the main road made the place rumble - so be prepared. Wait staff mainly female tonight - uniformed. Pleasant and welcoming. Had a booth for three. All the dishes on the menu sounded great and a good choice to select from including a blackboard specials. I had the chicken parmigiana - moist meat, golden crumb served atop slim french fries. Rounded off with some salad leaves, carrot and tomato, dressed. Pottle of tomato sauce - not needed as the chicken had tomato and cheese. My friend had the beef and date tagine served with rice and salad. Steak fromage - served with chips and salad on a foccacia bread. We had room for dessert which was banoffee pie, rich and delicious. No complaints from any of us.
As this was very busy - the noise level was high so take this into consideration. Three courses without drinks you would be looking over 50$ a person. Clean and tidy, although gas bottles line the entrance to the toilets out the back. There is a bar and restaurant. Outside tables are also available. Noise of Riccarton Road - no issues. Plenty of parking around on the street.
Went there twice. First time for lunch food was wonderful great chief and the young waitress was excellent lunch time was five out of five.
Bit different when we went for dinner food was still five out of five .But the wait staff were busy and they needed more on .We had to Chase them down to order which was disappointing .But will go back when we return to NZ
Went on unexpected meal out with the family and ordered the beef cheeks, and wow, was so awesome and best meal out in a long time. Kids meals were great too, kids pizzas were not cheap looking pizzas like some other restaurants do. Would recommend for sure.
