Reading all the negative reviews is quite surprising.
We went as a group of 7 for the buffet on a Thursday night, we were the only ones there.
We were given us a list of food options to select what we wanted and we selected the foods we wanted to try and handed this back to the waiter.
Food was then delivered to the table one after another all hot and fresh from the kitchen. The Lemon Chicken lacks the sweetening that most Chinese Takeaways give but it was definitely LEMON chicken.
Other than the sourer than what we are used to Lemon Chicken and the Wontons which did lack filling (and did taste like they were fish filled) we had no complaints. These 2 dishes we weren't great fans of however the rest were great.
All the dishes tasted nice and fresh, no signs of using old stored food. Everything was cooked freshly so we didn't need to use the buffet serving area.
There was no issue with serving sizes, once we had gone through our list they offered it to us again if there was anything else we wanted another portion of.
Desert wasn't the standard buffet experience, it was tubs of ice cream which you could help yourself to as well as they brought out a selection of cheesecakes and fruit salads. Not disappointing, just different to the other buffets in NZ.
The service from the staff was nice and friendly, we all left feeling we got good value for the $25 cost.
Thoroughly enjoyable food, great service, buffet food was brought to the table freshly made after a selection of preferred dishes was made by our table. We were even given the opportunity to request more after the initial round which was unnecessary as everyone was full and satisfied. Friendly servers and bar staff, well presented restaurant and bar area, even has a poker machine room, I will definitely be returning.
Not many customers but staff were great. We were asked to order whatever we wanted off a sheet and it was bought to us freshly made a little at a time and was all very tasty. Would definitely go again
