Just had a wonderful night out here. The service was excellent and the food and drinks were both delicious. We were lucky enough to get the couch by the fire and spend some time getting to chat with the owner.
This is a lovely new find that we will be coming back to, with friends!
Today is the second time I go to The Wayfarer restaurant, some Chileans told me that there was a Latin American restaurant in the center of Dunedin NZ, when I arrived the reception was wonderful, in my visit I ordered a "Luco Beef" very famous in my hometown Santiago de Chile, the meat, the melted cheese and its splendid bread, what surprised me was the Chilean pebre, I could not believe it existed on the other side of the world, to drink the barman suggested me to try the drink invented by "The Felipes", a citric drink perfect for the heat at that time of the day, wonderful first visit!
Obviously I had to come back to try the Chef's delights, the second time I tried the Peruvian Marinate Lamb Shank dish with a good drink, the chef could not disappoint me, a dish that I did not know from Peru made me feel that I am in Latin America and to finish I had a good coffee and Lemon Meringue Pi which I was told is made by the owner of the restaurant.
I recommend that if you are in Dunedin, don't miss the opportunity to feel the flavors of Latin America because they are a delight.
I met Tristan the manager there today, what a warm welcome and experience. The coffee was absolutely on point & for the first time in a while I decided to have a cooked breakfast. The bacon & eggs we’re just brilliant, not too much, not too little.
I’d highly recommend - they’ll definitely be getting my coffees orders this week.
