Imagine this...
Late a Sunday evening in October we turned of the road after driving for a few hrs exploring the coast.
Went in to this local pub. Inside a few lads meeting up to watch a game was having few beers and in the corner a family was having dinner.
We ordered the food and went through a diningroom and out the back where a garden opened up.
We took a coffee and walked around in flowers, olive and lemon trees with ducks, hens and one and another peacock roaming around.
In the further end of the garden, underneath the willow tree, a pond with and island was hiding a play house. You could almost hear the laughter from the kids running around letting their imagination set free.
Went back in to eat a genuine home made three course dinner with the big glass doors framing in the garden as the sun was settling.
And all this, just by turning of the road for a sign that said "meal."
Amazing. Can't say more.
We visited the Tin Hut the other Saturday had awesome experience from the moment we arrived Matt opened up the doors early for us early birds and we enjoyed lovely brunch/lunch menu, great staff, glorious Wairapara weather and the lovely out door setting which was enjoyed by my friends from Holland & Christchurch - Matt even showed us the accomodation side of it as got a family wedding next year so will book the bedrooms for the guest. Even last night my sister & her hubby went over for a meal on a Tuesday night and asked if they had booked and thought Tuesday night booking but to there surprised it was a full venue and enjoyed lovely food in the bar area.
So thanks to Matt & his staff for great venue and good luck for the future you sure have done it up well.
Now under enthusiastic new ownership. Matt & Lisa are putting a lot of effort into making this a great Wairarapa destination. New menus are making an appearance and you can be sure of excellent service and a friendly welcome. Accommodation is excellent for a weekend stay.
