This place was the beginning of my Japanese food journey.
Service: 6/10
There’s not much to say about the service.
The workers were polite and serviceable. The food was served in a decent amount of time and they were helpful whenever we called for them.
Food: 7/10
I ordered the spider roll, fish teppan udon and unagi teriyaki set.
The spider roll had a really crunchy filling and the sauce made it a little spicy.
The fish teppan was tender and the udon was very chewy.
The unagi was perfectly cooked and coated thoroughly in teriyaki sauce.
The portions of the sets were also worth its price.
Ambiance: 8/10
The whole place looks like one of the most traditional Japanese restaurants I’ve seen in Auckland.
It has an old wooden theme with Japanese posters and decorations stuck on all of the walls.
The store is a little small so it can be a little tight on the space.
This place may not be the most authentic but it’s holds sentimental value...and it’s pretty cheap.
I guess I told a lot of times already that this is one of our favourite restaurants, it is one of our usual go to places when we are lazy to cook something at home. The food is nice and the price is quite reasonable especially during lunch where the bento boxes are almost half the price. I think I am not the only one who loves them in fact it has a lot of good reviews just have a look hereor here.
Can't believe I forgot how good this place was. Fantastic service, speedy arrival delicious food, and best of all, only $11 for the chicken bento. Can't argue with a variety of delicious food.
The beef Bento and chicken bento were both fantastic, and my only constructive feedback would be including other vegetables in the salad as there was too much cabbage.
Oh, and their tea cups are magical - somehow our green tea didn't go cold even by the end of the meal!
