Great fish n chips. Busy so abit of a wait, so good sign. Very close to beach so we could have our dinner watching sunset đź‘Ť
This is a true local kiwi fish and chip shop, the atmosphere is from yesteryear, menu on the wall, high counter and the smell of great fish and chips.
Staff were friendly, good sized portion of chips and blue cod was great, but actually everything was great (mussels, spring roll, 1/2 scoop of chips)
If you’re after a true kiwi experience and a little bit attitude at the counter definitely head here.
Side note; it was full of locals, and for me that’s the best indicator of how good they are.
The best fish and chips we’ve had in New Zealand. Good portions of fish, good batter and the blue cod tasted fresh and meaty. Chips were good but…still not as good as a UK chippie. This seems to be a NZ chippie theme, they’re like McCain oven chips. We took a short walk up the road and ate on the stationary boat, overlooking the sea. Perfect.
