First time trying crayfish and I love it! It was really meaty, seasoned well and I really enjoyed the truffle fries as well. Staff are super lovely too!
I had dinner here and found the service was very friendly. The waitress was lovely at entertaining us and talking to us. The food took awhile to come out, which was slightly disappointing but worth the wait. I got the venison cooked rare and I really enjoyed the dish.
The venison itself was tender and had a nice flavour to it. The fig sauce and the beetroot added a bit of sourness to the dish, which I really loved as it added an unique flavour to it. The mashed potato with peas on top and truffle was buttery and delicious, it literally melts in your mouth and the pea added a bit of sweetness to the potato. It is a beautiful dish and I highly recommend it.
Stumbled upon this cozy restaurant while walking around the little streets of queenstown . The "famous captain's chowder" is indeed famous from reading the reviews, and it sure didn't disappoint, in fact i just couldnt help but come back for more just before i had to fly back home. I've tasted a fair amount of seafood chowders and i must say that this is the best one yet. The chowder had ample amount of seafood and was very rich and creamy yet not at all off-putting after having a few spoonfuls.đ Also tried the prawn tagliatelle which was superb, having it tossed in a crayfish bisque made it extra special. In my thoughts one of the best, if not, the best as well. Lamb rack and Slow-cooked pork ribs were also very good.
Service was excellent both times we visited. We asked to be seated outside despite the freezing weather to enjoy the queenstown night vibe, they didnt fall short of ensuring we're nice and comfortable by offering us blankets and checking every once in a while if we are okay.
