I love dining in this quaint restaurant. The food and service is on point with a great Japanese/Spanish fusion menu made with fresh local products. Keep up the good work.
We have just had the most amazing meal at this beautiful old church & would definitely rate it 5 , we could not fault the food or service.
It's just a shame it's hidden in behind it's jumbled neighbours property ! Please don't let this put you off.
Time after time our meals at La Capilla just keep on transcending themselves. Takeshi succeeds every time in exceeding our expectations, serving original dishes and new food combinations.
Who would ever thought I would enjoy Brussels sprouts? I can tell you: if you get them with Takeshi’s scallops dished up with Serrano ham, onion confit, apple puree and saffron-lime sauce … well you’ll love Brussels sprouts.
The Carpaccio de Pulpo brought me back to my childhood. It was as tender and tasty as the one I used to eat during the summer holidays in Sardegna and Corsica (the only difference was Takeshi’s artistic presentation. What a beauty! Chef, are you sure you are not a painter as well? Guess all top chef are … how do they come up with such presentations otherwise?).
Also all the memories of the many Porchetta eaten in the Riviera Romagnola came alive with the super tender and juicy Piglet … Where else in NZ do you get such a delicious crackling?
No need any more to go to Italy/Spain for Mediterranean food … we’ve got it even better just around the corner. Chapeau Takeshi/La Capilla!
