I've been here twice before and not really enjoyed the sharing platter. However today decided to try again because they do really awesome cocktails. Service was fabulous and attentive. Cocktails were very good. Food scrumptious. We ordered crispy potatoes, fried chicken and salt n pepper squid. All prepared quickly. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Definitely be back for more cocktails and perhaps a pizza.
Nice place, very friendly. I only had time to have a cocktail and the venison carpaccio, but both were very good. I would have loved to come back to play the pinball! but they close early (10pm) but that is normal in Rotorua.
An Asian couple walk into a bar on a Friday night. The waiters steal furtive glances but largely they are ignored.
After hanging around for a few awkward minutes they start to feel like Rosa Parks on the wrong section of the bus but having come here at their hotel's recommendation on a cold winter's day they decide to pull up their socks and sit themselves down at the nearest empty table.
The table is uncleaned and covered with crumbs and leftovers. Brushing a piece of cheese from his coat sleeve, the husband walks over to the bar, picks up a menu from between two waiters, and returns to the table unmolested.
Unsure if they will be able to order, the couple quickly browse the menu and accost one of the wait staff, who replied with, "yes, sure!"
The couple ordered some food and beer and breathed a sigh of relief.
Now weirdly, every interaction after this was fine. The food was tasty and excellent value but we sure as heck didn't feel welcome.
Platters were enormous from what we could see so if you're after a value for money feed this is the ticket.
