I'm giving it four stars just because service got rather slow toward the end of the evening, and because I WISH the portions were bigger. And the atmosphere was very loud, and we felt a bit out of place as people who were just stopping through and didn't own boats.
The owner is super kind, welcoming, and gave us a helpful overview of the menu and what was considered their best food there, which was great! My husband got the New Zealand lamb steak, and I got the chili prawns. But both LOVED them but wished there was a little more food. It seemed a touch expensive for how much food you got. We ordered fries because we were still hungry and the Whittaker's chocolate cheese cake with the chili plum sauce. We didn't like the chili plum sauce but liked the cheesecake (and the fries). If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be eating there again. Those prawns were out of this world.
Been staying here with our boat for a while and come here for lunch or dinner a fair few times. The food is amazing! Fresh. Well presented. Every single time. It is worth travelling for. We came from Scotland 15000 nautical miles ago - less will do as well 😅 Lovely people working here! Can only recommend ❤️
Celebrated my birthday dinner here and had a wonderful time. Lovely greeting, easy accessible table for my Mum who is 84yrs. Wait staff were prompt and attentive. Owner welcomed us and made recommendations for the new menu. They now have a European/Asian infusion style menu which has a great selection to satisfy most palates. My partner had the chilli prawns and steak. The entree was delicious and steak cooked to perfection despite the owner informing us his European chef was off sick. I had the King prawns and Massaman Lamb curry. Both absolutely delicious. The Massaman Lamb was the best I have ever tasted, perfect heat level and delicious sauce. I was surprised by the staff bring me a cake (that my Mum had organised) and singing 'Happy Birthday') I will definitely be back - and not just because my brother Paul is the owner😂. I am so very proud of what both him and his wife Nhung have achieved in the short time they have owned the restaurant. They have big plans so it will only get better!
