Consistent taste of Big Mac with Chicken and Bacon, egg McMuffin, and hashbrown. The coffee was mild. A few spacious indoor dine-in areas and a few outdoor tables. The DC3 airplane's dine-in area has tables only for 2 persons. Free car park bays just outside the building. Children can climb up to the DC3 with adult supervision.
As far as McDonald's go, they are mostly all the same, food never changes. However this one has a DC3 in the front yard that also doubles as a dining area. For that, it's worthy of 5 stars!
I admit it, we came for the plane. But the plane is totally worth the trip! Where else in the world can you order your Happy Meal, walk past the kiddies’ play area, climb the stairs and eat your burger in a genuine DC10? I thought it would be loud with lots of children, but the plane is more of a draw to the adults. A display of photos with explanatory text just outside the cockpit is really interesting in telling the story of this particular aircraft.
Sure it’s gimmicky, but it’s unforgettable and actually really fun. Do be sure to get there when it is open so you aren’t disappointed. I think when we were there in early May it closed at 4:30.
