My partner and I stopped here after a hike, and were flabbergasted by how good everything was! We shared an Irish Stout pie, a pumpkin pork pie, and a slice of chocolate cherry cake. We’ve been sampling pies all around the North Island and the pies we had here were our favorite by far! The crust was buttery and flakey and the fillings were perfectly seasoned. The chocolate cherry cake was also super yummy. I’m not certain, but it tasted like the cherries were soaked in a liqueur. The ganache was chef’s kiss! The woman who checked us out was kind and we appreciated that there was an option to sit outside. Altogether, we spent about ~$18. If we could, we’d absolutely come back again! These pies are the real deal!!! Some of the best I've ever tasted. Made fresh each day, the pastry is a perfect balance of buttery lightness yet substantial. There are many beautiful, tasty fillings to suit everyone, my favourite is pork and pumpkin. Well worth the trip. Highly recommended, a must for all pie lovers. This place will win national competitions for sure.
