Had a little friends reunion with the girls & we were recommended by other friends ‘The Residence’ for some good bar food, drinks & service. Glad we came to this bar because we had the best night!
The bar staff were amazing, one bartender in particular was an absolute vibe. He was very friendly, accommodating, made great cocktails & served us with a smile! Im pretty sure his name was Jacob? With service like his I would definitely recommend this bar.
Great food, we especially enjoyed the pizza. Lots to choose from on both drinks & food menu. Will definitely come back if we have another night out.
I read the recent reviews. Maybe things have improved recently. My wife and I stopped in for happy hour on a Sunday while Jacob was bartending. He was personable, helpful, very on top of his position. We met a number of regular customers who were fun to spend beers with and learned a bit about Wellington and the neighborhood. If we lived in Wellington, we would definitely come back. If you want a regular pub with a great happy hour daily and reasonable prices, you should stop by. If you want something more upscale and pricey with a bunch of tourists, go to Olde Bailey.
Edit: Did not realise this didn't get posted until now
My daughter and I are visiting Wellington for WoW. We are currently preparing to fly home today but I wanted to commend the handsome brown (Pacific/Maori) young man that was working in the evening lastnight. Alone, might I add. We first arrived in Wellington last week and walked right past this place thinking nothing of it until lastnight. That young man is amazing to watch work and he has a beautiful soul to match. Got tired just watching him. We finished our wine and we turned around to find him having fresh full glasses for the both us which was on happy hour. Happy hour or not, I would pay full price if I got that type of experience everytime I visited anywhere. One of the best customer service we've experienced since being here in Wellington. He is a keeper and I would steal him for myself if I had a company in hospitality. The food was just as amazing. Even watching her work alone. It's so rare these days to see young people working hard but at the same time, actually enjoy what they're doing. I smiled a little when I seen the young man and the lady do a high-5 after it settled down abit. Unsure if they both will see this but on the odd chance they do, job well done and a massive thank you for making the end of our Wellington trip one to remember. We will definitely be back.
