Great friendly service, good food. Portions ok, some people may need to top up with sides or an extra dish like steak tartare, which was delicious. They run a set menu, which is their main offering. The set menu costs $59, which starts with a shared plate aperitif, then your choice of main and dessert. From the January menu, for something finer and nice, I recommend the fish (blue Moki when we were there). For a bit more protein, go for the bavette ( beef flank steak). For dessert, the blancmanger is my pick for being a little bit different and delicious, while the tarte tartin is slightly more substantial and my second choice. This place looks popular, so best to call ahead and book to ensure you get a table. Staff are attentive, there's easy French music in the background and ambience is informally pleasant.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Had the set menu which included a great shared starter, choice of mains was good and a delicious desert finished the meal. Good selection on wine list, friendly knowledgeable staff made for a great evening.
Gorgeous food, set menu with class. French inspired food. Great wines and champagne. All contained in a cosy renovated 1860s cottage. Previous home to the Roxburgh St Bistro, hints of which have been cleverly incorporated. Bon appétit!
