Love the pancakes for brunch. They're small, thick, and fluffy at the same time. And because of their 2 for 1 deal, it's hard to refuse. Good value and portion.
Good, chill and casual environment with a Sunday vibe. Would recommend this place for a casual breakfast.
8/10
It was clean, friendly and helpful staff. Food that reminded me of my mother's cooking. Loved the access to fresh water in such a hot day too. Recommend.
Not going to lie... Vic St Cafe was not my first choice for brunch a couple of Saturdays ago but the first pick was packed so we came here instead.
This place is unassuming. It doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. It's quite a large layout on a corner which makes the layout awkward but it is tidy, clean and inviting.
Before you switch off... wait. This is where the 4 stars come in.
The service is fantastic. The wait staff are friendly, chatty if you feel up to making conversation and helpful when it comes to working out what to eat. Big tick.
The menu is pretty extensive so thankfully the wait staff are also patient. Took us a few minutes to stop talking long enough to work out what we were going to have and when the food came out (in a very timely manner), we were not unhappy.
The portions are huge and for the price, this is a good deal. Being the GF Vege chick, I went for the Vege Brekkie. It has smoked homemade baked beans which were fantastic. The smoked flavour really took it to a different level compared to other places that put this on the menu. Mr RaeRae had the pancakes and are devouring those, was a happy wee camper.
I don't know if I am emotionally capable of talking about the coffee. The same morning of this brunch, my PT had challenged me to no caffeine for the rest of September so this was my last one. It wasn't mind blowing but it was decent. Perfect amount of hot water, just the right about of coffee and not a bad brew.
All in all, a decent trip. Thanks Vic St Cafe!
